Of the four badges Destructoid will be designing -- Community (for anyone with a Dtoid account), Huge (for Huge members), Staff (for people we let post on the front page), and Legendary (exceptional Dtoiders hand-picked by the staff) -- we're asking you to help create our Community one. The image in the attached gallery should serve as your template (the PSD can be found here), but other than the basic form you can let your mind go wild!
Here are the design guidelines for the badges:
- Each badge type has an assigned shape. In the case of these community ones, they would be a "shield". (See above for basic form.)
- The designs are limited to 9 different colors, due to logistics in the process of stitching the embroidered counterparts. So please keep your designs within the limit!
- We don't have an explicit minimum thickness of lines, but common sense needs to be used that any given line needs to be easily stitched with thread and seen normally on a 3.5 in sized badge
If you think you've got the creative touch and can work within those guidelines, get to work on designing the official Destructoid Community badge! The winner's name will appear alongside the badge on the Honored platform for all the world to see, as well as being featured prominently on Destructoid. You have until next Friday, November 29 to submit your design, and we'll accept submissions from anyone in the world. Once you've got your submission ready, just paste a link to it in the comments below. (And remember: the Community badge uses the shield template found in the gallery!)
After all the submissions are in, the Dtoid staff will judge them and award the winner with his or her very own, very exclusive Legendary Dtoider badge. (The Honored team hopes to have physical badges available early in 2014, depending on their Indiegogo outcome.) Have fun!
