Help! I can't stop playing 2048

Mar 14 // Brett Makedonski    @Donski3

Similar to Threes, but different

This week's addictive browser game that I can't seem to quit is 2048, a sliding tiles game where you try to match numbers to multiply their value. The ultimate goal is to get a tile that's worth 2048 without having completely filled the four by four area the game takes place on.

It takes just a little bit to figure out how it plays, but after that passes, 2048 is an increasingly maddening affair of space-clearing and number-enhancing. While it probably won't have the long-lasting effect that games like Cookie Clicker had on me, it's a great way to pass time for now.
