Help computer: G. I. Joe in PlayStation Home today photo

Start all the downloadin'.

No, I got that right. Today, PlayStation Home users *cough* will be able to download four G.I. Joe-themed outfits/costumes for free, all in an effort to promote the movie G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra. The following costumes are available right now:

  • Duke
  • The Baroness
  • Snake Eyes
  • Storm Shadow (me!)

Tomorrow, if you're still running around Home, you should visit the Home Theater, where you'll be able to watch an exclusive video starring the fist-bitingly delicious Rachel Nichols (above) and some other people I don't care about. In the following two weeks, trailers and clips from the movie will run there.

Finally, if you wanna be a Joe yourself, walk up to a poster in Home and play a training game to see if you have what it takes. Some will win exclusive merchandise.

yes.. Yes she is. I also agree I am seeing the movie anyway. People need to stop expecting a blockbuster for every movie.

So I just got my PS3 yesterday and I checked out Home for the first time just because of this article. Exactly where do I get these costumes? I looked in the mall but all I found were some free katamari and patapon tshirts and such, nothing relating to GI Joe.

I don't know why people like using the idea that all we want is a "blockbuster film" out of 80's childhood iconic series. What I want is a little loyalty to what the shows were about. Transformers were stuck with one transformation, not of their own volition (Teletran 1 picked 'em) and G.I. Joe (80's version) had uniquely identifiable soldiers that all specialized in a certain field. They didn't have super-suits, they were naturally gifted. From what I discern, all they got right was the Baroness and Snake-Eyes. Stormshadow looks like he's fresh from New York's Fashion Week.

Is there any reason why every Destructoid article about Home has to either a) insult the service b) imply that no one is playing it or c) report the inability to process the fact that anyone enjoys it?

I know Destructoid likes to pass of sarcastic nerd-rage as clever writing but it's really making this website a god damn chore to read.

Rachel Nichols is ridiculously hot. Even when she's covered in green paint (Star Trek).

Fuck yeah, Rachel Nichols. She's living proof that women from Maine can in fact be hotter than women from "nicer" places.

OK, Home might be worth spending more time in if the women are walking around in Baroness costumes.

SONY, can we just hurry this up and turn HOME into second life? Just ban all the furry stuff and it would be a neat place to hang out.
