Heihachi voice actor dies, possible suicide photo

Gouri Daisuke was a Japanese voice actor that seemed to specialize in fighting game voices. You've heard his work in games like Tekken (Mishima Heihachi), Soulcalibur (Edgemaster), Dead or Alive (Bass) and much more. His work also extended into the anime realm, where he was best known for Dragon Ball work.

He was found dead on the street in Nanako, Japan around 3 p.m. yesterday. He died of extensive loss of blood from his arm, and authorities are treating this as a suicide. A knife and a written will were found nearby.

We can honestly say that videogames won't be the same without him.

Gouri Daisuke found dead at 57 [Versus City]

In Japan, not surprised, I've seen people jump out of windows and everything else there. I'm not sure how common it is, but I've seen the reaction to it and the disregard for life in general by the rich in relation to the poor, the cops in relation to a suicide. It's morbid.

Isn't there a forest in Japan that a lot of people go to kill themselves in every year? Yep, that's Japan.

He watched the Tekken Movie Trailer too then.

God, I"m going to hell for laughing at that...

I wonder if Namco will kill off Heihachi now that the VA is gone...I doubt it though. Namco loves Heihachi too much.

this is kinda a surprise though.

I made the Joke due to you putting heihachi like it was his biggest character. he did lots off DragonBall Z work AND the Voices for StarFox.... C'mon STARFOX!!!! It's better than Tekken.... Oh and he did MetalGearSolid and FFXII. The guy was pretty awesome. Y'know, if you import japanese games.

Aww man this sucks.

My game design class played tekken y6 all afternoon.

The actual fact its a suicide makes it worse, I have felt the same emotions that can drive someone there. I'll miss his voice.

Damn. It's been a while since I played a Tekken, but I remember playing Tekken 2 to no end a few years back. I didn't like Heihachi very much, but RIP Mr.Daisuke, I don't think I'll look at the Heihachi character the same now.

@ Sinow Wolf

Fuck you for making a funny. Now I'm definitely going to hell.

God no! The suicide is bad enough, but Heihachi is my favorite character in the Tekken series. I hope this doesn't mean they're not going to include him in future Tekken games :(

Definitely tragic.

I only just heard him voice Heihachi in Tekken 6's Scenario Challenge. His voice was so low that I thought someone slowed the track down. O_o

But seriously, sad news. :O(
