Ever since we got our first glimpse of Team Fortress 2, I think it's safe to say that for most of us PC FPS players, we've been anticipating its release like no other. The humor, art style, and well, just plain fun that's to come can probably all be explained in this video alone. Heavy Weapons guy, you are my new hero.

At least they didn't go the route of some beefy "uh, uh...say what again?" idiot sort of route.

Meh. I'm going to spend more time being the scout and/or the spy. And hopefully, I wont die of old age before it comes out.

here's the writeup from Steam news for those interested:

We are pleased to announce that the next generation of facial animation technology for Source will be released in Team Fortress 2. By leveraging the rapid pace of advancement in PC graphics, videogames can now match and actually surpass the facial animation used in feature film and broadcast television production. We've released a video of this real-time, in-game, in-engine facial animation in action in support of ATI's launch of the Radeon HD 2000 series. By running entirely on the GPU of the videocard, the facial animation not only looks dramatically better, but frees up the CPU to perform other tasks like physics or AI.

What does all that mean for the 360 version?

I loved the pure joy on his face as he blasted away there in the end of the clip

It's going to be tough choosing which one to play, TF2 or HL2

Funny assed shit. I really, really like the stylised look of the game. FPSes these days just take themselves way too seriously, this is a nice change of pace.

you should seriously stop using gamevideos.com - half the videos the audio is f'ed up.

I use gametrailers.com with better results... they have all of these there too. And in HD no less.

This game looks TITS!

There's a video at gametrailers where they don't focus as much as this one - but it has a LOT of the other classes touched upon... I like it: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=12827&type=mov&pl=game

imbeta, try sliding the volume nub down and then back up. I had to do that once and only then did I ever get sound on Gamevideos.com clips. I've only had to do that once.

I'm really hoping (but not holding my breath) for stuff like this in-game. Like, when he's shooting everyone and laughing, that'd kick all kinds of ass if that shit happened during the game. I'd be laughing and yelling the whole time myself, even if I'm the one catching the bullets.

personally i'm not putting this up there as THE most anticipated FPS evah, right now (for me) that belongs to ET:QuakeWars.

but the game looks fun as hell.

Do want.

With shame, I have to admit that I never got to play the first Team Fortress, but it was in a computer lab at Columbus State that I first played TFC. In one of those early matches that day, I was playing Push with some friends of mine. Deciding to go on defense, I chose Heavy Weapons and planted my ass at the goal. A friend of mine on the other team was making a desperate run with the ball, making her way past all my other teammates. As soon as she ran into the room, I held down the fire button and kept the crosshair on her, even as she ran under the catwalk I was on. Finally, just mere feet from the goal, she ran out of health.

I've played defense in Quake 2 CTF matches before, but never with such finality and effectiveness. The Heavy Weapons Guy earned my undying respect that fine day.
