For quantum's sake, I hope they can recoup the money it took to make that game....
@ Revariance
"I'll tstick to 360 exlucisives like Gears and MW2."
360 exlucisives like Gears and MW2
exlucisives like Gears and MW2
exlucisives like MW2
lol wut
Bye bye Nick! Bye bye Jim!
Bye bye D'toid! Thanks for all the laughs!

Not a knock against the devs. They deserve the money, I'm sure. I'm just a broke grad student living off loans. The game sells well and I get a copy for cheap. Win-Win. I refuse to pay full price for any game, no matter how good it is. I remember when new PS1 games were $40, and I want it to stay that way...
I really want to try this game, despite all the artsy fartsy shit that surrounds it.
@TheDukeofNukem You really think JC2 will sell more? Is that game supposed to sell over a million? I didn't think it would do too well because the general audience doesn't like it. I guess I was wrong
So this is Quantic Dream's highest selling thing, yeah? Good for them, at any rate.
Hell if you want to get technical Gears isn't an exclusive, either. Clearly this guy is an idiot.. just move along.
"but it's nice to know that the duo are being rewarded for the gamble that is Heavy Rain."
Exactly. Whether you liked Heavy Rain or not is meaningless. What does matter is that other Dev's see that taking risks can be completely worth it. That's the sort of thing I want to see more of when it comes to video game development.
Anyone whining about Ps3/Xbox exclusivity is completely missing the point and is nothing but detrimental to video games as a whole.
Im gonna tell it to you in a simple and friendly way... YOU JUST F*CKING FAIL!!
How MW2 is a 360 exclusive?...
I see no bad that comes from encouraging developers to refine and innovate.
Personally I feel it is fair to factor in 'level of difficulty' in reviewing a game and although heavy rain is flawed - it is creative and daring.
@Chronic Logic - 1 million units is 60 million in sales. So for the sake of entrepreneurial investment I sure do hope they have broken even after $60 M USD in Sales.
If you can sell 1 million anything - and not break even? Check your name tag. Make sure it doesn't say Mephistopheles or Sisyphus. And that you don't work for a temp agency.
JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!
Yeah, because sales always equal a high quality game.
That would mean Modern Warfare 2 was next to immaculate.
His last statement was fucking hilarious. Not so much because I agree/disagree but more because you talked about Heavy Rain as a deep emotional game thatcould ONLY be found on the PS3. Because the fact of it only being in PS3 needed to be reinforced or tacked on like you were a Sony sales rep.
Your funny dude, keep up the good work cause you know us PS3 only owners gotta stick together. Fight the powa now! ;)
Turns out a lot of 360 users are jealous of our diverse, varied, exciting game library, perhaps some of them are getting a little sick of all the homo-erotic space marine saves world from alien invasion games over and over and over.
Seriously, the only thing to take from this post is that, taking risks as game developers DOES pay off. There is no need to keep publishing FPS games over and over, or milking that one successful franchise to death, do something interesting, something different.
Although, I don't know how Heavy Rain would have sold to the 12-18 year old Xbox audience? I mean, it's got no space armour, it's got no aliens, it's got no bromance, it's generally lacking in testosterone for that audience really.
Think they made a good decision bringing their grown up game to a grown up audience.
