Did you want more "hardcore" Kinect games? Prepare to regret that request, my friends. Just check out that trailer (actually using the Wii version, oddly) and be stunned.

This is Heavy Fire Afghanistan, a game that may very well be glorious in its tastelessness. The point of this on-rails shooter appears to be to shoot brown people ... streams and streams of brown people. It's basically House of the Dead with contemporary terrorists, set in a war-torn part of the world.

"Enemy Contact. Open fire! Defend the base. Lock down the streets of the local town," says developer Mastiff. "Hunt down the enemy in the forests. Rescue the hostages from the caves. Sweep the enemies out of the mountains. Fly in helicopters. Ride in tanks and trucks. Take it to the ground and get up close and personal with the enemy. Your objective is simple: Grab the biggest gun you can find, then knock out the enemy with your Heavy Fire!"

Yes ... it's as jawdropping as it sounds. The best part is it's only $18.99 on Amazon. Pre-order yours today!

As well as Kinect, it's hitting PS3 and Wii. It has co-op, so you can shoot Johnny Foreigner with a friend, destructible environments, because f*ck Afghani homes, and vehicular sections. It's due out this year, and let me just say hello to the FOX News/Daily Mail researcher who is most likely reading this now and stroking their crotch in anticipation.

On rails or not, this is a great start to Kinect's titles.

As of now, on rails action seems like the only thing Kinect can od...they need to find a way to reinvent that genre to make it work with Kinect's multiple tools.

I almost choked on my water when I read that. This is why I love Destructoid.

So, looks... yeah. Can't get enough rail-shooters with faulty controls and sync issues. Joy!

At least you aren't able to shoot American-looking soldiers as a person belonging to a group called "Opposing force"...

It's really funny for a french guy like me to see that in the US nobody cares about video-games showing real conflict.

During Vietnam war, movies were censored, because they were politicaly deviant according to American government. Today, nodody cares because the games because they tell the same thing that the politics : the ennemy is there.

When will our media be adult enough to criticize things instead of encouraging them ? That kind of game makes me puke...

(First comment for me, so let's be clear : Jim i love you and i hope to see you at E3 this year. Chears)

"...and let me just say hello to the FOX News/Daily Mail researcher who is most likely reading this now and stroking their crotch in anticipation."

I'm pretty sure Fox had a hand in developing this game.

Also, it looks, ummm, hmmm. I'm going to hold off on my opinion until Sofik weighs in. I'm assuming that this is testament to the hardcore capabilities of the Kinect and will revolutionize the way we think about rail shooters. Also, the PS3 version is just a cheap Wii knockoff. Also, lol at Sony fanboys.

I am down for a sub-$20 on-rails shooter, haven't played one in a while and it will be nice to kick the dust off the old Kinect.

MS should get on board some company to make gun controller simillar to that from last Cabela game - they could easilly incorporate Kinect controls in all future and past action titles(plus that gun was super fun).
as for the game i remember there was pretty cool wiiware on-rail shooter - i would rather play that game than this crap.

It's Afghanistan. If you want to shoot Thurston and Lovey ask the developer to make Heavy Fire: Martha's Vineyard.

(actually using the Wii version, oddly)

The last two games in the series, came out on WiiWare. So its really not all that odd, that they'd show it for the Wii, because that's where the games audience is. These games are always around the top of WiiWare's top 20 games of the week chart, so they must be pretty popular!

This games seems like a waste. Mindless fun and barely that. I'm tired of seeing games that just seem to waste money on development, only to look like crap and hardly be worth it in the end. Something new, original and actually fun could have been done with that money and individual who worked on it, but instead, we get this.

You shoot white people all the time in FPSs, why is it a big deal if they are middle-eastern? It's not racist in the slightest, which Jim seems to imply, it would be if they censored them out however. This article reminds me of the whole RE5 thing.

I apologise if this was meant to be ironic :P.

But I guess these motion control games have to start small.
