A new animated short giving more backround story on Sony/Ninja Theory's upcoming PS3 title Heavenly Sword has just hit the web.
The video, titled Heavenly Sword Part I- The Legend of the Sword, gives us a little more background on why the sword is called the Heavenly Sword. Does that make sense? This is a very slick looking (and sounding) animation, but the problem is that it does not last nearly long enough. They've got teaser timing down to a tee!
The video also begins to give us more information on the events leading up to where the game starts, but it cuts us off at about two minutes in, hence the 'Part I' in the title.
We're already looking forward to the next one - hurry up!

hmmm interesting, i liked how the guy says: "and thousands would die for it" yet from what we know so far... u die if u use it lol. kinda deep philosophy eh.
@crunshii from what i understood of the story the sword has the potential of making someone a god and the legend was that some boy would be born to take up the heavenly sword and take down the evil empire and save the village yada yada yada but instead of a boy being born its a girl and the village hates her. she takes up the sword and it brings them more problems and the ruler of the empire wants it. i guess it makes some sense when you think of it that way. maybe the thousands that want it only want it for the reward the ruler would give them or they think they would become a god
So in the end, the Emperor defeats the girl in a cinematic, after which he dies? And then turns into ubermode/demon mode after which you get to beat him as the last boss? :)
Haha, I saw this in great quality video because it was a PlayStation Underground Gamer Advisory Panel exclusive (or so I thought, anyway). Either way, it looks awesome, and I can’t wait for more!
