Using Media Server workarounds (TVersity and the like), it's possible to get streaming content from just about every major network, broadcasted sport, Netflix [without a disc], and working Hulu support.

It's like paying to download movies to your Xbox 360.. rather than going on youtube and watching them for free.
I'll just continue to use my PS3 as a media stream for my downloaded TV.

I hated on netflix for awhile until i tried it. You would think maybe I would make a comparison to this, but no.

All of these work interchangeably on the 360 and PS3 (even PS3 Media Server).
All of these can access proxy content, and all of your computer's media. Combined with a PSP, Remote Play, and a TV Out Cable, you can access all of your media anywhere in the world, so long as your PSP has a wifi connection.
Which is why buying a physical DVD set is so crucial. You can dump all your content onto a Hard-Drive digitally, then access it remotely from any device you want.

I would get excited about this, but its HBO and stupid cable packages are why I got Netflix and a cheaper internet service.
To me, these days, I just refer to HBO as "Bill Mahar's latest place to hide."

HBO is old and outdated, the only reason they are still in business are because of their dvd sales, not to mention the service you're paying for "premium" service. Now if HBO got into talks with Sony for the new PSN service maybe the revenue could be applied for each app that is downloaded to each PS3. A person with a PSN log in can watch shows on their registered systems such as PS3s and PSPs, only limiting to with end user agreement.
Or Sony and HBO come to an agreement that they're greedy assholes and don't wanna share profit. Thus ends up with piracy winning the battle of digital content-sharing all over the internet. And these companies are wondering why they aren't making money.

I guess adding anything in terms of actual entertainment to PSN is a positive. That price point isn't exactly compelling for YEAR-OLD CONTENT, though.
One day government will get its act together and force platform developers to allow open development of software and services as a licensing requirement. We already have everything we need technically in PCs for great media delivery, but we're still taking baby steps because most of the braindead market prefers proprietary consoles and television as their delivery platform.
Just to put this out there - I really hope nobody here actually chooses to spend their money on television. Those that live in the US can at least use Netflix instead.
TV and its 30% unskippable ads definitely need to die ASAP, so we can finally have a user-driven media system where you only pull down the content you actually want to watch. They could advertise just fine in the background during the browsing portion. There could be some sort of virtual TV-channel system for lazy people that mixes in ads and suggests what shows they might like. Right now it's basically the same as leaving the tap on all day on the off chance that you might need some water.

I live in Canada, doesn't do anything for me.

I watch live tv online to watch tv shows because in my i don't have TV.
Well from past 1 year i regularly watch tv shows online.. due to my work i always at tour and watch them on my laptop.I realize watching tv online is much better than on television, i can watch my favorites csiny,dexter,how i met your mother and <a href="http://bones.edogo.com/">bones episodes</a> anytime and anywhere.
