Haze probably coming out on January 15, maybe not, who knows? (Update) photo

PlayStation 3 gamers waiting to suck down some Nectar and cap some fools with a weapon nicknamed "The Donkey Puncher" may not have much longer to wait.

Ubisoft's often delayed first-person shooter Haze is being listed on the official US PlayStation page with a January 15 launch date. Our scans of GameStop's retail release lists seem to back this information up, listing that same date for shipping.

When asked about the release, Ubisoft UK declined comment to CVG. So what does this all mean? Who knows, but we'll send a small prize to anyone who live blogs a camp out for the game's release on January 15.

[Update: Oh nose! The plot thickens -- the official PlayStation site (via N4G) has changed the date for Haze, and is now listing a 3/2008 release for the title!

"Gaming for me is a religion and Haze is the shit! I had to come up with a track that can hit up that kind of rush I get from the game and I think we really rocked it!!"

I will pick it up as I like the FPS genre.

Hopefully this will woo me over.

I was interested in this title until it got delayed, then delayed again, and finally fell into oblivion where it met a angry, mangy pack of dogs. Delaying games to increase their quality is good, delaying several times in a two month time period, not good. March seems more realistic than January 15 though.

Yeah, I don't know if those release lists are in sync with the online lists but gamestop.com has been saying it's release date has been bumped to march for a few days now.

The forums on gameFAQs for this game are HILARIOUS and filled with people who can't cope with the possibility of it being delayed a little bit more.

Personally, so long as the delay is to improve the quality of the game, I'll wait as long as it takes. As long as the game is good, that is.

Free Radicals DID make my favorite FPS of all time (Timesplitters 2) so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Go Haze!

As an openly rabid fanboy of anything that free radical has touched I swear I'll take a soldering iron to my "I Hart Cortez" tattoo if this doesn't make it out soon.

What a farce! The only reason it has been delayed is so that Ubisoft can hit their Q1 targets.

Assassins Creed nailed their revenue targets for Q4, so now they just want to make the first part of 2008 easy. They won't be doing any sodding work on the game.

I just hope they aren't foolish enough to release too close to GTA 4, as it will suffer...
