HAWPcast: Once Upon a Pixel photo

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin' is a surreal comedy series made by Anthony and Ashly Burch. Once Upon a Pixel is a completely different series made by some of the same people. If you hate one, you may like the other.

Ashly Burch is out with the flu, but don't fret -- Ashley Davis, the creator and star of Once Upon a Pixel, is pinch-hitting for her. She has more letters in her first name, and is thus a quantitatively better person.

This week's episode isn't as zany, unfocused, or long as other installments of the HAWPcast (it's less than 40 minutes), but there's still a lot to enjoy, here; Davis talks about the basic philosophies driving Once Upon a Pixel, where it is, and where she wishes to take it. And also divulges her shoe size.

As always, you can listen to the show here or subscribe to us on iTunes.

Sweet. will listen on the way home. Oh, and I watched Jackie Brown for the first time on your recommendation, and I'm a better person for it.

Talking about that Animal Crossing idea you decided not to do, you should read this, it's awesome (imo):

That was both enjoyable, and surprisingly erotic. Looking forward to more guest appearances :)

I'm kind of embarrassed at how long it took me to realize Ashly Burch and Ashley Davis were different people. It didn't register that they were different until I found out that Burch doesn't actually write for Destructoid.

That's what you get for having the same name.

Anthony is kind of a Douche to Davis. Listening to this podcast I hear in her that him swearing all of the time, and jokingly calling her things such as "A fucking fruit" makes her uncomfortable, and it's as if she wishes he wouldn't do those things. Honestly, I don't understand what Davis sees in him, he's kind of a cunt, and the more I hear of him, the more I notice it.

Also, I'd like to throw this out there, that I don't personally know either of them, so I may be (in fact probably am) completely wrong. Just showing my observations.

And for Derek, I understand what you are saying, but I made my observation based on how she was reacting to those comments, rather than the comments themselves. I've known many people who I make fun of jokingly and they do the same back, and it's all in good fun. It just seems like Anthony is taking it a little to far at times, and as small and playful as the attacks may be, it could be damaging to ones self confidence and self esteem. Just looking out for my fellow human beings.

P.S.

Why the hell am I going all analytical on this website of all places? I need something to occupy my time a little better.

On a completely different note, now that I'm completely deep into the podcast, I share a connection to Davis - I too raised a duckling I found alone in a ditch, a rare Wood Duck newborn, and we raised her to adulthood and set her free. Occasionally we still hear her from nearby ponds but she hasn't come home in a while..good times.

I always knew Davis and Ashly were different people, now I know that's something I can be impressed with myself about

Oh and don't fret over having low views for your second video, it's a new series, the first one got so many views because it was a new thing so a bunch of people checked it out, wait a while to get a good fan base going and I'm sure it will be popular.

Logged in for the first time in months just to say that Ashley Davis is goddamn adorable.

That is all.

For a long time, I was dead certain that Ashley Davis was Ashly Burch but only in HAWP, and that Anthony did not actually have a sister and Ash was completely fictional.

Later I learnt I was wrong.

Also it can still be called the Hey Ash Whatcha Podcast as well as HAWPcast, acronymically speaking

I would like to see God of War in a different style. I really like what your doing with Once Upon A Pixel, and I would like to see where it goes.

And Anthony, I don't get why your having problems with Uncharted 1. I mowed through it while I was waiting for Uncharted 2, and I enjoyed it. Mind you, the controls ARE way tighter on Uncharted 2, obviously but I do think the first is worth playing. I did wait until it was on the Greatest Hits list, with a 30 price tag, and I'm happy for that. A game at that length I would have been pissed if I payed full price for... I don't know.

I'm not sure if it does have anything to do with it, but I have trouble finding videos on this website now, the videos page I think is a mess, it was better when they split it up into reviews, trailers and originals, I know you can just scroll through and find stuff, it was better for me when it was broken up into tabs. So I was thinking that may have an effect on the views... maybe...
