You'd think that after my Tony Hawk Quest that I'd be sick of The Birdman and his games by now. Nope! I'm still waiting on the release of Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD's DLC, which is reportedly a few weeks away from release for $5. The DLC will contain new skaters, the ability to revert, and three new levels originally from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3: Canada, Los Angeles, and Airport.
Outside of a small teaser by an eyebrow-less Tony Hawk, footage of these levels has been impossible to find: at least, until a few days ago, when these videos of LA and Airport surfaced.
Although I'm still excited to try them out, these videos don't make the level redesigns look very promising. It looks like Robomodo got out of putting other character models into Airport by having it take place at night (like Airports are closed at night or something?). To further the cheapened look, they also copy pasta-ed the security guard from School II into the level.
Strangely enough, these are also the three throwback levels in THUG 2, which means that long time fans have probably played them into the ground. Things aren't looking good for the DLC, but I'll provide my thoughts for you whenever it decides to drop!
It really gets at me when remakes/ports/HD remasters have DLC at all. Developers are already getting off easy by not having to create a brand new game from the ground up, did they really have to charge for extra content in a product that probably should have had that content in the first place considering remakes/ports/etc. inherently take considerably less development. But hey, maybe I'm just being an irrational DLC hater as usual.
wow so it seems instead of making one game using everything together as a platform, they are just converting a few features etc from each game and making them their own contained dlc. like the reverts only working in thps3 levels etc. that seems like a pretty lazy and retarded HD remake if you ask me.
Maybe next they should add the Cruise Ship level as dlc, where after the 2 minute time limit is up it goes crashing into a glacier and then everyone on it dies.
Just when I thought they were going in the right direction with this game, they flip a bitch.
I like that they included my 3 favorite levels from 3, but the fact that you can only revert IN THOSE LEVELS makes this a pass for me. Also still no local multiplayer.
Does the DLC contain all the modes they removed fro the series and add in fun? No horse and split screen 2 player made this game unplayable to me and I wasted $15 big time. Removing Horse... good lord its like the most popular mode... and 2player mode?? it was a friggin PS1 game and has had 2 player offline co-op since the beginning! WHY??! ugh i hate looking at it on my games list and have been trying to play lots more games just so it gets pushed down into the bottom so I dont have to even look at it. so pissed
