Have to agree with you Jim. Fucking hate dev diaries because it's usually a 5-10 minute vid with maybe 1 min of gameplay spread across many scenes of some ugly sperglord trying too hard to market "new features". Just show me the fucking game, you are not rock stars, you are not movie stars, I don't need to know what you look like.

This is one of "those" games that i'd rather watch someone else play. Looks amazing but im exhausted just thinking about having to control all that.
These dev diaries are getting to be ridiculous, I'd love to see another industry mock this practice. How about a Vagisil dev diary? "The most anticipated cleanse in the history of vaginas!"
I agree with Skribble; there are some really interesting developer diaries out there, but yeah, most of them aren't done properly.

Overly-dramatic, or seemingly arrogant dev diaries can be. I just tend to ignore most of what they say and just look at the gameplay footage seeing as how that is the only way you can sell a game.
this game could be much better (for me of course) if it was about french revolution, Industrial Revolution. If they wanted to create some pre-Templar organization, Peloponnesian War, First and Second Punic War,

For what it's worth, I thought the video was really cool. Showed a lot of different gameplay and I liked hearing about the historical context.
Calling Assassins creed 3 one of the most anticipated titles in history is just laughable.

Developer diaries are arrogant? Yes, it's terrible for content creators to explain the underpinnings of their process to people who are interested. How dare they share their thoughts! In fact, it's equally arrogant (maybe moreso) for people who have never actually been involved in the game making process to making a living blogging about it. Wait...what have I done?!

I really hope you guys have Jim review this one. I strongly disliked 1 and 2, even though I saw potential. This new one looks great, but I don't want to be conned again. I agree with everything Jim says about AC, so if Destructoid could give me Jim's view on AC3 once it comes out, I'd be happeh.
AC3... You can still loudly murder a human being in a crowded area, and as long as no one is within five feet, you're good. Someone within five feet? Even then, you'll probably be alright. People in the past were mostly blind. Little known fact.

Seriously while I'm one of those crazy people that likes behind the scenes stuff and actually getting to take a look at what goes on into making what I love. This on the other hand is grandstanding with things I already knew about.

@mani60cent: sorry your game of choice is mainly a piece of shit. Would probably make an interesting book but it blows loads as a game. It will no doubt earn it's 3.0
