Tuesday, January 18 is the last day Rock Band Network songs will make it to the Wii, according to Harmonix community manager Aaron Trites.
"With the smaller online install base, limited demand for releases so far and the significant amount of work it takes for our producers and audio team to convert and process these additional tracks we’re no longer able to continue submitting RBN content to the Wii," he writes.
"Regular Wii DLC, and RBN releases for the 360 and PS3 will continue uninterrupted." You can't get too upset at Harmonix here -- the marketplace has spoken.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
The single most played RBN song on the Wii only has 364 scores submitted, and only 12 songs have more than 100 scores to their name.
But on the other hand, Nintendo has maintained a backassward hat on ass online structure.
It's almost like they hate online multiplayer as an option and want to discourage it, whenever and wherever possible.
I will however commend them for trying. It says a lot that they tried to include everyone.
... or even better, Nintendo pulls their heads out of their asses and implements an actual solution for online/dlc.
'em for sticking it out this long. The one friend I have who actually owns RB for Wii doesn't even have his Wii hooked up on his wireless.
Good thing I have a 360
Talk about a self fufilling prophecy, for RB4 they will annonce no wii support.
Either way, they make it seem like 360 is their console of choice.
The normal DLC is still coming for Wii owners, its just the RBN user created stuff that's over. Like other people have mentioned here, Harmonix pretty much treats Wii owners like shit, all the time. But I don't know why, because their games sell really well on the Wii. In fact The Beatles: Rock Band sold the best on the Wii, and RB 1 & 2 are million sellers as well.
So why do they treat Wii owners like second class citizens? People say its Nintendo's fault for having a shitty online system, but Vicarious Visions seems to get everything that Harmonix said "it can't be done on the Wii" in their Guitar Hero games. So how is it Nintendo's fault, when another 3rd Party developers doesn't just whined about it being impossible, but they actually gets its done and working just fine on the Wii?
Well, considering Microsofts XNA studio is the basis for which the Rock Band Network works, yes, the 360 is the preferred console for RBN
I have all the RBs on Wii, mainly because the instruments were cheaper
I'm honestly suprised that RBN was even made for the Wii.
Uh, Rock Band's been 360-specific since the first, and sells the best there. The Wii RBs are like playing the PS2 version: You just don't.
