Hard Corps: Uprising kicks off XBLA House Party
Xbox Live Arcade's House Party is in full effect now that the parents are off vacationing in Hawaii. (What can possibly go wrong?) The first title for this batch of releases is rather fitting due to its in-your-face batsh*t insanity: Arc System Works' Hard Corps: Uprising. The full download is priced at $15, but even if you aren't in the market for a gorgeous-looking Contra game, I recommend playing the demo; there's enough content to justify the download time. If nothing else, do it for the absurdly badass animated intro movie. Any takers? I'm afraid I'll buy this, get my ass kicked, and never play it again. Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I promised myself I'd stop buying so many full-priced XBLA games, so I'm going to sit on my hands until these go on sale. Well...I suppose I should just surrender now and get this instead of agonizing over it for two weeks and getting it anyway. The game is rather fun although it's somewhat curious as to how they show 2 DLC characters in the intro to the main game. ~_~ I'll probably pick it up when I've got the extra cash anyway. I don't have time to try and beat a super hardcore game right now, but I will pick it up sooner or later. It's a bit lame of them to have the additional 2 characters as downloadable content. They should have been unlockable in the main game. And why is it that $15 dollars is the new $10 for xbla games? I feel like we are getting taken advantage of... This game is fucking amazing. Well worth the $15. You get classic hard as shot arcade mode, but you also get rising mode which let's you build up points for upgrades that make the game a lot easier. It also let's you play the stages in any order. The art style threw me at first but once you see it in motion it's gorgeous. One of the, if not the best contras I've ever played. Also for the dlc characters buy the samurai. She is awesome and game changing. Once again, If you're a fan of contra you must buy this. 15's a bit much for XBLA these days. Beyond good and Evil is only going to be 800 points! This will hit the 800 point sweet spot in a few months. I can wait. Wish they did a promo where you get a disount for buying all of em though. I would be in if that was going on. I'll check out the demo, at least. I'm a huge Contra fan (at least with Contra and Super C on the NES), so I'll give it a shot. Cool. Now, when the psn version please? To many time i been waiting for this game and now ps3 owners don't know if we would play this soon, not even a release date for us. Oh come on, take my damn money, but give the game man! I still like the game, I will probably still buy it. I just feel like they should have included the characters in the game, they are just ripping off their fans. Castlevania HD did the same thing with their character dlc and extra maps. And that was even worse because they were just recycling graphics from old games(at least for the main game). @Floppy
