Just a heads up. If you hold the A button your character runs. I know youre "not used" to the movement (even tho the controls have remained unchanged since 2006) but give that A button a shot next time youre playing.

The "tank controls" actually give you incredibly fast and versatile movement that allow you to pull off shit you could never do in your standard FPS.
You do have to "get used to it" (as in learn how to play the game) but once you do, you realize the series has damn good movement.

Ohh, I'm sorry. Gears of War 3 is my first Gears game, and the only Gears game I've played. And like the guy below you said, it takes some time to "get used to it".
I dare you to go up to a hardcore COD gamer, as in a COD gamer who only plays COD, and no other games, and let them try out Gears, even with running. I bet you they'll think it's shit the first time around.
So, next time you call someone an asshat for calling Gears slow, just know that there are people like me who...

Playing Beast mode I could see there was a potential for strategic combat, since there already were a ton of different "classes" on offer. This looks like a cool evolution of that.

I wouldn't give advise to cod gamers because I would assume that even if it was their first go they would read the instructions or, I don't know, pay attention to the tutorial which in gears games games a mssive deal out of roadie running.

Nah man i play it for that as well. I have played through games several times, alone and in co-op. But the MP got really good in the third game so i hope it only gets better.

I've loved the Gears of War series since the first game came out. I've primarily played it for the campaign and am interested in them making Baird the main character and giving us a look into what makes him tick. However, I am also glad that they're trying to add a class based system to one of the multiplayer mode as I feel it would add a little more strategy to the game. Needless to say I'm looking forward to it and playing a shooter where you have to think tactically and not run and gun...

I honestly have no idea why I play Gears. It's certainly not for the multiplayer (I dabble, but I don't much care for multiplayer in general any more), but it could hardly be said to have a compelling campaign.
Every time a new one comes out I tell myself "Nope. Not this time", but every time I end up buying it. And then it sits on the shelf gathering dust.

I'm the same way. I start out uninterested, then at the last moment decide to pre-order the game. Not much has changed, yet I feel compelled to play through each one.

Well there goes that. I kind of thought the gears multi was fine without classes. This sounds likd gears of ghost recon
This is exactly what I thought Beast mode was going to be. COG vs. Locust in all out PvP Warfare. Did not play Left 4 Dead though...
I'm not totally sold on this yet but it's still over a year away. Plenty of time to polish and expand upon this concept. I'm hoping the campaign is more sandbox-y, if that makes any sense.

Why does he need to conform to your personal view and taste? Id rather perform to form my own ideas about something and let others have theirs. Tho im quite secure in my taste and identity.
