This means the little Blu Ray wonder have entered the final stages of its life cycle.
Well, that and Move not having much in the way of game to support it. The two "lesser" motion control concepts have had far more success.
yeah, cause LBP did wonders for platforms..oh wait, it was BROKEN AS FUCK and nearly UNPLAYABLE for everyone that wasn't a masochist. not a single game made by sony that was ripping off Nintendo's franchise turned out good, EVER. Modnation had terrible loadings, bugs, atrocious AI and rubber-bending(people pick on Mario Kart Wii's Ai and rubber bending after playing that crappy knock-off, REALLY?). i doubt this one will be any better - it will be another LBP - good level editor and down right insulting game.
actually the problem was that they mocked Wiimote for lack of precision and shovelware games made by 3rd parties for 3 years straight just to release Move which isn't more precise than Wiimote+ with games that made first generation Wii shovelware titles they mocked so much look like Portal 2.
Modnation Racers was not an openly bad game but it is definitely a game where the idea was better than the game itself. The editor is fantastic, if a little bitchy when it comes to bridges, and the problem is the actual racing is just not fun. Not even counting the load times.
The karts themselves can barely turn because the whole game is built on the idea that you are always drifting and snaking but while in other karting games these moves would be skillfull maneuvers in Modnation it is so essential that it is no longer a skill. So much so that the handbrake button is really the "slide all the time" button. You will literally be sliding sideways through 90% of a track because that is just the way it is designed.
The weapons themselves are way too imbalanced. Is is too easy to get a 'tier 3' power up which are all nearly unavoidable-blue shell level attacks. Players can use a shield to defend which dips into their boost meter which means almost no one ever uses manual boost since you always need to have your shield ready for some bullshit attack.
Custom tracks do not contribute to your racing exp. This was stupid because then there became no incentive for average players race on them and waiting for a custom race to fill up was longer than the load time.
I wanted to love the game. Mariokart + editing tools is a formula for success but I do not feel Modnation actually achieved in being a fun racing game.
Again a fantastic editor with terrible hockey puck race car handling.

(also, Jak got one)
Also, -
"are those the type of god-awful games that permeated the original PSX?", no, there were literally hundreds of complete gems. But console fanboy wars are fucking retarded so I'm stepping back from that one.
Oh cool, Sofik talked a load of poop at me. Does that mean I'm one of the guys now or what?
While not entirely original this year (see the Super Smash Bros. clone) ....at least SONY is providing some actual exclusive games to look forward too.
1. messed up physics, horrible lag in button input, problems with switching between each one of the places in levels, broken jumping. that's just the beginning.
2. Move is not precise at all - hell, half the time it can't even be recognized by ps3 properly. there wasn't released a single shooter on ps3 that was as precise and as good as Metroid Prime 3. hell, aside from shovelware minigame collections there's no core exclusive title made for Move, let alone a decent one. you're listing games were sony patched Move controls in as an afterthought and it's not even on par with Motion+ - so no those aren't quality titles because they weren't made FOR the Move(and even 2/3 of those type of games don't work with the Move - Mag, Socom 4 etc.). the fact that Move has problems with Wii ports proofs that it simply doesn't work properly and was rushed and desperate attempt at gaining some of Wii's userbase.
