the action was crazy intense. if only the actual metroid and halo games were that cool to play (in terms of fighting and such)!

the lesbian stuff didn't bother me or really enhance the experience for me, but i think he may have done that as a way to not hafta choose a true winner. if he woulda had master chief (and we only ASSUME it's master chief... there were other spartans as mentioned before) kill samus or vice versa the internet woulda been ablaze with people flaming this guy. now all he hasta worry about it lesbian (implied) love.

they held each other and danced. have you guys ever actually seen lesbian porn? those two girls acted more like sisters or close friends than lovers. calm down. just 'cause two chicks dance together doesn't mean they are lesbians. please. master chief is still a dude. albeit one that could get his ass handed to him by samus OR that female spartan.

Yea, that's cool that he is an amateur....but he at least knows how to animate pretty well. It would have been nice if all the other pieces of the film were up to the level of the animation.

What pissed me off was not the ending but the way every site is all "Master Chief VS Samus".
So I expect MC at the end, not some Master Chick.
If it was clearly stated I would have probably liked it more, but first impressions only happen once.
But overall, very well done.

The only downside is the Matrix-ness? What the hell does that mean! That's like saying mario games should stop acting like sonic games. Matrix was bassed off anime people!

no actually that was in-fucking-credible. I loved it. Of course, the 2 games he used, Halo and Metroid, are 2 of the slowest shooter games I've ever played...

Yeah I think this is the last time I'll want to see that sequence spoofed, but it was awesome nonetheless. Oh and ending-wise: This is how Halo 2 should have ended dammit! Would've been more than satisfied then.

Even though the ending was typical cheesecake (not that there's anything wrong with that, certainly), for everything before that (despite the old hat Matrix-refs and lightsaber sound effects) I only have one word: Awesome.

Still, I was waiting for some Metroids or Space Pirates or Ridley to show up, but they never did. Oh well, can't have everything I guess.

If anything, this might have finally convinced me to consider hunting down Halo and Halo 2 in a bargain bin somewhere.

yes there may have been girl spartans, however only john 117 was promoted to the rank of master chief, (spartan 51, kurt, reached the rank of lieutenant, but he wore a different armor type in the later days of his life) also, there were only a handful of spartans who were given the mark V / VI armor, and a spartan of a number such as 468 would have received the secondary or tertiary SPI armor, which looked substantially different than a mark V / VI

but its probably just a fantasy universe anyway.

Side rant:
As a 3d graphic/ game maker person, I also think the rendering graphics quality could've been better (proper ray tracing HDR lighting, reflections, etc.), but that served 2 purposes 1. it kinda looks more like a video game that way (a ps1 game that is) and 2.- it knocked off thousands of hours from the rendering process. Although I do agree with an apropiate rendering farm (a la god of war 2 cutscenes) that would've been literally orgasmic. But seriously thats ONE (1) guy doing it all in ONE (1) computer! thats beyond awesome!

For everyone saying Master Chief isn't a girl in the video. It says in the FAQ at gametrailers that it was 'meant' to be one of the other spartans, specifically the one that cameod in DOA :P

Spartans are supposed to be like 8ft tall and strong as hell. And judging by the way she looked the genetic engineers on Future-Earth appear to be really into lesbian hentai... Seriously though, Spartans are supposed to be massively strong and powerful, not nimble little ninjas. The action in this movie is well done but totally off the mark; Spartans are like sci-fi Rambos in armour. This is way too Japanese for me.

I have to say that like it or not, that took a damn lot of effort and dedication. I enjoyed that short far more than I ever did Halo 2, Matrix 2 and 3, and the new Star Wars trilogy combined. The shield/sniper combo? Fucking legendary.
