Halo Waypoint now on the Dashboard preview photo

People who are in the Xbox 360 Dashboard preview can now check out Halo Waypoint. Waypoint is going to be your one-stop destination for all things Halo-related. You'll get to see movies, get news, earn rewards and do a bunch of other neat things.

Reader Hawk xSx sent us a heads-up about Waypoint releasing today, and he told us that there are some Avatar Awards related to your Achievements from Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo Wars. You'll get some Halo-related clothing and toys to mess around with.

Sounds interesting, but I really just don't see the point to all this. I'm probably the biggest Halo fanatic on this Web site, too, and I could care less. Granted, I am looking forward to Halo Legends and Waypoint is going to be the only way to see it.

No offense to Halo, but I never really thought Halo warranted something like this. Make a few more games that are really amazing, and then we can talk. Other than that, this is pretty cool. Just wish they had something like this for the Playstation, say, LBP, or MGS.

This is Microsoft whoring out their IP, Bungie aren't even involved. This is why Microsoft can't have nice things.

Is it just me... or is that Spartan striking a sexy pose, left hand looks like it's in position to have the fingers down the pants/panties while strutting to stage right? Look at the hips and the walk!

It's pretty sweet for five minutes, once you check all the stats the excitement, I guess it will piqué my interest again when reach comes out. Avatar stuff is cool though

It sucks because for the preview program which I am a part of Halo Waypoints is only avalible to Americans, I'm Canadian and I don't get last.fm, which is the only decent thing in the update. I was interested in Waypoints. Whatever, Microsoft can just do what they want, whatever...

Avatar awards sound cool! We seriously need more of those. If I could get a Security/Rogue Helmet for my avatar, that'd be pretty BA. Better than paying $2 for pixels. I don't really care about Waypoint though...meh.

This is unnecesary. 5 years down the road, provided they'll actually be expanding the universe each year, we'll talk.

Also Master Chief is woman with a voice modulator in her helmet. Duhr!

Actually Waypoint only gets Halo Legends first. It will release on DVD/Blu-Ray in 2010.

The only thing that's even a little bit exciting to me is the avatar awards. Since I don't have splosion man (yet) it's the first time I've gotten on of those.

Currently, I have a little pet monitor

Does anybody know what awards you unlock?
I got a good portion of the "regular" achievements for Halo 3 (none of the Vidmaster or any of the map packs), 850 points ish.

I'll download it later tonight to grab my free Halo 3 rewards then probably delete it.
