Microsoft Games Studios and Ensemble Studios are excited because they're done with Halo Wars. That's right, finished -- the game has gone gold, which means it's off somewhere being made for public consumption. This means the game is all set for its March 3 North American release, and we shouldn't expect any delays.

The Halo Wars demo will be available on Xbox LIVE at the very specific date and time of February 5 at 2 o'clock in the morning, Pacific. So if it's a minute late, feel free to start furiously bitching all over the Internet. The demo will feature the first two stories in the game's campaign mode, as well as a multiplayer map called "Chasms" that you'll be able to battle against A.I. on.

Microsoft have also released the first in what is sure to be a series of Halo Wars video documentaries, which you can see above. If you want it in glorious HD (and it does look glorious), it's also available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

So, who's more excited about this game than Halo: ODST?

Really, it all depends on how they pull off ODST. I don't know which one I am more excited over. If any. As much as I admire and respect the franchise. I am burnt out I think.

I'm not big on strategy games, but I'll give this a go. Who knows, I might even like RTS (I did want to get Supreme Commander, though).

I'll see how reviews go before I decide whether to get it or not.

Another question. Are the Flood playable in this game?

A cutscene that was released had a mention from the Covenant about the "parasite"

And I remember now the end of a trailer had Flood in it, don't know if they're playable though, be damn coll though if they are.

Marines = Terrans
Covenant = Protoss
Flood = Zerg

If they can pull this off right, then Halo Wars might actually be good

A documentary about Halo Wars? It'll be fun to see the part where some guy goes, "Yeah then we fired all of their sorry asses! Suckers!"

But wait I guess that was a good business move. It's not like that hasn't work in the past or that ES had their own long running and highly profitable series or anything.

I'm not really big on strategy games. I'm hoping they can pull off an RTS on a console. I still don't see how a controller can be better than a mouse no matter what they do.

I'm not more excited about this than Halo: STDs.

Your intelligence shines with each post. It's shocking.

It looks really fun but I'm not sure if I'm going to get it, RTS aren't really my thing.

I'm pretty interested.....I keep looking at my library and noticing that %90 of it are shooters....a RTS, which I rarely play besides a little Star Crafy Craft might be a nice change.
