Halo Wars, Dead Rising hit Games on Demand photo

If you like your console real time strategy and your zombie slaughtering on demand, I've got some great news for you!

Dead Rising and Halo Wars are both now available for download via Xbox 360 Games on Demand. Capcom's undead apocalypse romp will run you $19.99, and will eat up 6 gigs worth of hard drive space (and your brains, if you don't play your cards right). You'll be paying $29.99 for Halo Wars, if that's your thing.

Of course, you could pick up both games for about the same price in any retail store, but why leave the house?

You mean I get to pay more money for a game I can't actually hold than it would cost used at Gamestop?! And I get no physical manual either?! Hot damn sign me up!

I wouldn't mind replaying Dead Rising, now that I have a tv that I could actually read the tiny little writing on, but I just don't have the time.

29.99 for Halo Wars is fair.

Do people still play Halo Wars? It was a solid game once you got used to the wonky console controls. High unit turnover rate, lots of explosions, and really clever in some areas.

@Nolan South

You meant $2.99 right?

You're clever. No one has ever been as clever as you. I get it! I get the joke you made! You're saying that a well reviewed, fun strategy game is worth only $2.99, because you don't like it. I see what you did there. You're a gentleman an a scholar. I...I still just can't get over how great that was, what you did there. *golf clap*

I wish they'd have just released Halo Wars on PC. The platform RTS's were born to be played on.

Oh well... Sepreme Commander is pretty damn sweet so I don't mind.

Halo Wars Limited Edition is £14.99 brand new in Game. It has things and a metal case, and is the cheaper. Whoops.

To be fair, Game is selling the LE for less than the standard version. It's called clearance. Looking at things on our side of the pond, Halo Wars is $29.99 new at nearly every major retailer. One might ALMOST think they're looking for price parity. One the one hand, you have a physical version, with no reliance on DRM, lendability with friends and which you can trade in if you tire of it for something back on your investment. On the other, you have a digital version which cannot be lost, stolen or damaged, and takes up no physical space.

Almost sounds reasonable when you break it down. But that's no fun, right?

I can't believe Games on Demand still exists.
