If you were a Halo fan excited by Bungie's upcoming not-an-expansion-but-not-a-full-game Halo: Recon, get used to saying this: Halo: ODST.
Yes, the game formerly known as Halo: Recon has pulled a Prince/Cliffy B and is now known as Halo: ODST. For those not familiar with the Halo universe, "ODST" stands for "Orbital Drop Shock Trooper," one of which you will control in Halo: Recon ODST.
Maybe it makes more sense with where Bungie is going with the game, but "Hay-low Ree-con" was so much easier to say than "Hay-low Oh Dee Ess Tee." But I guess it doesn't matter -- the game could have been called Halo: STD and it still would have sold truck loads.

The old name was better, though. It had a better ring to it, even if the new one makes more sense.
And I'm calling it now: Gears will be the next "Hate this game because it's trendy" game.
Jesus, a guy can't like halo 'cause he's an idiot and a guy can't dislike halo 'cause he's trying to be trendy? So what exactly is the acceptable opinion?
You know what's more tired than WoW jokes? Constant oneupsmanship.
We should all enjoy gaming and I think that means the bad and the good. Critisism of games we like doesn't effect us, so why do we get so agitated by it? I've done it too.
I don't think anyone is going to like everyone's opinion, that's never going to happen. we're never all gonna get along.
But now I think we can take our own advice; if you don't like someone's comment on something, ignore it, move on, or reasonably try and identify someones reasons for disliking something. Then we can all have a richer experience.

Maybe we should adapt the comments system into something more conversation like. We already have the next page options, maybe we should move it toward a more forum based system? I know we already have a forum but the basis of good conversation is a good topic and the hot topics always come from the from page news and blogs.
which brings me to an odd point - im colour blind which means that similar colours blur into each other. because of this i cant play the online portion of COD 4 - the bleached effect colours they use are just to similar and i cant make people out quickly enough - this is one of the reasons i enjoy halo - the bright colours mean that its easy to differentiate between people, backgrounds and teams. im not saying that games makers should change the way they make things etc because im more than aaware im in a small minority but i often wonder how hard it would be to include a colour blind pallette for people like me - they used to on games like alpha centauri on the pc and i cant imagine it would take that much? or am ijust bitching about something that effects me and barely anyone else? anyone else out there with the same problems? any other games i should avoid? G
