Yes, that Magnum. Halo: Anniversary's multiplayer is based on the Halo: Reach engine so you know what to expect in that regard. However, 343 has revealed that the Magnum pistol from the original Halo will be usable in the multiplayer. Specifically, the Magnum will be wieldable in special and classic playlists.
As for the rest of the multiplayer, 343 is planning a big update set to hit this October. The update will address a number of things, such as armor abilities. Armor Lock will now absorb a level of damage based on the remaining energy a player has. Active Camo's duration will also be reduced.
Another fix makes it so that players can no longer block sword attacks with their guns. Only swords will be able to block sword attacks, which realistically makes sense. Reticle bloom will finally be configurable as well for increased accuracy.

"Special and Classic Playlists" I'm sure that there will be a special playlist that lets you use the magnum on normal maps.
Should be interesting with the Magnum back in play. I hope that reticle bloom tweak will add some balance, assuming it stays as beast.

So yeah, not sure what to make of the Armour Lock nerf but I'm content to see how it pans out. I agree with it being changed, just not sure if this is the right change.
Using it to shed a Plasma Grenade was priceless (LOCKBLOCKED!) and it pains me to see that go, you still needed good reactions to do it anyway.
I hardly see camo used online anyway and can't raise more than a "meh" to the changes.
Good to see that deflections with non-swords are gone. Sorry but you try to deflect a sword with a pistol and they'd cut your fucking hand off, Star Wars style. It would just slice through an assault rifle or any other weapon like a hot knife through butter, though I'd have been good with the hammer blocking it.
Sounds like they're fucking with a formula that didn't need fucked with.
Also, don't give me any bullshit about realism when we're talking about a sword that has target-lock abilities. Were sword noobs crying too?
Personally nerfing AA and to be able to configure reticle bloom is something that will make Reach a lot more pleasing and enjoyable, for casual and hardcore players alike.
Besides at least 90% of the online population has been asking for this changes like since early 2011.

Idk I don't like the Armor Lock Nerf. Although It did need to be more balanced. We'll see how it turns out.
However Active Camo didn't really need to be nerfed. I consider it useless really.
