Halo: Reach getting major updates, Magnum coming back photo

Yes, that Magnum. Halo: Anniversary's multiplayer is based on the Halo: Reach engine so you know what to expect in that regard. However, 343 has revealed that the Magnum pistol from the original Halo will be usable in the multiplayer. Specifically, the Magnum will be wieldable in special and classic playlists.

As for the rest of the multiplayer, 343 is planning a big update set to hit this October. The update will address a number of things, such as armor abilities. Armor Lock will now absorb a level of damage based on the remaining energy a player has. Active Camo's duration will also be reduced.

Another fix makes it so that players can no longer block sword attacks with their guns. Only swords will be able to block sword attacks, which realistically makes sense. Reticle bloom will finally be configurable as well for increased accuracy.

Sounds good to me. Can't tell you how many times I've wanted to just rage quit because of people religiously using armor lock.

I hate it on infection when people somehow defend sword strikes. Glad to see that's getting fixed. Shame the magnum isn't for standard Reach maps.
Hopefully it might be included somewhen.

These are welcome features for sure! I despise armor lock, so that update sounds grand. The sword update makes sense and so does the camo. That camo lasts wwaaayyy too long.

"Special and Classic Playlists" I'm sure that there will be a special playlist that lets you use the magnum on normal maps.

I read about this a few days ago, and I welcome all changes. Seems Halo CEA will be enjoyable even if you don't buy it!

@EnigmaEmu YES! I hope this nerfs Armour Lock completely. The pure cowardice that ability has reduced to is blindingly infuriating.
Should be interesting with the Magnum back in play. I hope that reticle bloom tweak will add some balance, assuming it stays as beast.

Damnit, I liked how you could block the sword. You want realism, then don't have a weapon that makes people dash forwards at lightspeed in the first place.

So yeah, not sure what to make of the Armour Lock nerf but I'm content to see how it pans out. I agree with it being changed, just not sure if this is the right change.
Using it to shed a Plasma Grenade was priceless (LOCKBLOCKED!) and it pains me to see that go, you still needed good reactions to do it anyway.

I hardly see camo used online anyway and can't raise more than a "meh" to the changes.

Good to see that deflections with non-swords are gone. Sorry but you try to deflect a sword with a pistol and they'd cut your fucking hand off, Star Wars style. It would just slice through an assault rifle or any other weapon like a hot knife through butter, though I'd have been good with the hammer blocking it.

About time they nerfed armor lock. Kind of indifferent about the active camo duration; even though it's what I whore the most, even I think it's a bit long right now.

Y'all so stupid people. If you hate armor lock (I do) play squad slayer. What map has more than one sword? People blocking the sword is 80% of me not geting "slice and dice" everytime. Configure bloom to increase accuracy, ya if by configure you mean take it off

Armor lock whiners ruined Reach. It wasn't good enough that they could play a couple of play-lists with it completely removed.
Also, don't give me any bullshit about realism when we're talking about a sword that has target-lock abilities. Were sword noobs crying too?

cant say i like the changes to a.l. its not unstopable and you can pick it too you know, I can see when people use it for everything but you have to know how to use it tactically nothing like throwing a sticky and larding the way out for your opponet. Also why the chage for active camo and sword blocks those didnt need to be chaged its a sifi game dosnt have to be realistic like usedtabe said what about the sword lock on then?

Glad Armor lock is getting a nerf... but not too happy about not being able to block swords. It was the tiniest of chances to not get destroyed by the weapon and now its gone? meh.

I couldn't care less about the changes, although it would be nice if I could still have the same chance of surviving close-up with a sword-welder. Active Camo duration shouldn't be reduced either, it was ok to begin with, and took ages to replenish fully.

As someone who plays Reach on a regular basis I can't say with word how welcomed this changes are!

Personally nerfing AA and to be able to configure reticle bloom is something that will make Reach a lot more pleasing and enjoyable, for casual and hardcore players alike.

Besides at least 90% of the online population has been asking for this changes like since early 2011.

Agreed Xai Xo; that's my biggest complaint aside from Armor Lock in Elite Slayer. Just about every time I spawn in a smaller or off-balance match I pop-up next to the entire enemy team and get ripped to shreds.

If you don't like the spawn points on halo, you should try playing Black Ops...

Idk I don't like the Armor Lock Nerf. Although It did need to be more balanced. We'll see how it turns out.

However Active Camo didn't really need to be nerfed. I consider it useless really.
