There are eight different Specializations in total, two of which will be available to everyone as soon as the game launches on November 6: Wetworks, which allows the use of Promethean Vision without the usual drawbacks, as well as a quieter sprint, and Pioneer, which gains XP at an accelerated rate, provided that perk is active.
The other six Specializations (Engineer, Tracker, Rogue, Stalker, Patherfinder and Operator) will be gradually made available to players post launch, unless they preorder the limited edition"
That's a pretty fucking cheap way of making some extra money. The most infuriating thing is that it's gonna work. I was planning on getting the standard edition, but being stupidly impatient, looks like that isn't an option for me anymore. -__-
My Spartan helmet and Reach statue look awesome on my shelf.
But honestly...if its gonna take a while to be at level 50... why boast that its available for LE owners right away when by the time I am level 50 it'll be available to everyone anyway. So confused.
I pre-ordered this game and I'm now bound to always rent first from here on out. Too many disappointments recently - Battlefield 3, Halo CE Anniversary Edition (should have been a big duh), Lego Indiana Jones 2.
Been a Bungie fan since Myth, and much like Myth, when the license gets sold to some wannabe, bad things happen.
I guess that means $99 is the new $60.
People really don't read anymore do they. Scratch that "think for themselves".
...and announced that the access to the War Games map packs (free for Limited Edition buyers) will be available for $24.99."
At this point I'm honestly just considering not buying this game at all. This is typical EA bullshit. What the fuck is your problem? Do you like it when you piss your customers off?
Fuck it. *Pre-orders Black Ops II*
I honestly have to agree with you, but not exactly for the same reasons. I've planned on dropping 100 on this edition for a while (budgetted it in and whatnot) but they more I keep seeing of Blops 2 and hearing that pretty much anyone I play online with will have it is kind of making me want to change teams temporarily. Most of my friends suck at shooters where people take more than 5 bullets to kill if you aren't aiming.
Because that's not what it's saying?
"Wetwork and Pioneer will be unlocked for players right from the start, and all eight of the Specializations will be unlocked for people who pick up the Limited Edition."
you get two at the start. By level 50 all will be unlocked, unless you're an LE owner, and they are available from the beginning.
I put hundreds of hours into Halo 2&3. At any given moment I had a dozen friends on and we'd just pool our friends list together in order to get some great custom games going. Matchmaking was a blast as well. At some point I got into MW2, but none of the Halos or Call of Duty games since then have really caught my attention.
Both Halo 4 and Black Ops II are both looking great pre-release, but I honestly only have the time and money for one. And with this pay-to-win bullshit in Halo 4, I'm seriously considering skipping it. Even as a long time fan who's nerdy enough to read all the books and the comics and what not. I just don't like being fucked over as a consumer.
Luckily I think I'll have a few friends on both, so I should be okay though. So yea, it seems like we both agree to some extent, but for different reasons, lol.
Wait, you are upset at Halo 4's Limited Edition, so you are pre-ordering Black Ops 2? What Microsoft is doing with Halo 4's $100 Limited Edition is fairly similar to what Activision has started doing with its $60 CoD release + $50 Elite "subscription" (and which was copied by EA for Battlefield 3). Pay for the DLC in advance, and get various time-based advantages.
