$500,000 in prizes

The Halo 4 Global Championship will give gamers around the world the chance to play for $500,000 in prizes. Microsoft, 343, and Virgin Gaming have teamed up to bring this summer Halo 4 tournament to the world, with its start kicking off at Rooster Teeth Expo on July 5 (and on Xbox Live on July 15).

Competitors will play in free-for-all matches, working their way up qualifying rounds to make it to global leaderboards. The finals will take place over two says in Seattle this August 31. The top prize for this championship is $200,00, so you had better start practicing.

Registration begins today. Visit this link to get in on the Xbox Live competition, with a new mode appearing each week to keep up on. Players need to complete 20 matches in the tourney playlist per week, with top players being picked out each week to compete in the finals.

Live events will take place at Rooster Teeth Expo (Austin, TX -- July 5-7), gamescom (Cologne, Germany -- Aug. 21-25), and at the Seatlte finals. Let me know if you'll be playing at the gamescom event. I'll look for you there!
