After reading the Game Informer article, I am optimistic to see how they characterize Master Chief and Cortana. Looks like we might get the best Halo campaign since Halo: CE. Also the multiplayer looks sick as usual.
September release window is for Halo games, this is the bastard child of Halo and every other popular shooter out there. It just ain't pure.

Halo 4 should have been a new console launch game. Another Halo for the 360 is really boring.

I agree with BrainWasherAttendant to a degree, Halo 4 would have moved a lot of systems and felt like a much bigger deal as a launch game for the next Microsoft system. Still, I suppose they had to have a big game for the holiday season and I'll certainly be getting it anyway.

Surprisingly I agree with you for once. Elections are rigged and while I think a Halo game as a launch game is a no-brainer, I'd honestly rather see some new IPs that can hold a flame next to Halo and Gears for exclusives. Fable is Fable so it doesn't quite count in my opinion.

Thank you! That September thing was bugging me. Though he could technically be correct, as Halo 3, ODST, and Reach were all September releases, with Halo 2 and Halo: CE (as well as Anniversary) were all released in November. Halo Wars was in February of all times.

Although I will never be a fan of Halo, I have mixed feelings about Halo 4, 5 and 6. On one hand a new developer maybe can see the limitations of the previous games and push the boundaries of them to make a more fun experience. On the other hand I find that extremely unlikely, and see this as just as a quick cash-in (quick in the sense that everything is already established). Even if this game is buggy and mediocre as hell, it will sell a million copies simply because of name recognition alone. That makes a very depressing and sad state of the industry, where "gamers" are no longer excited for new experiences but prefer rehashes of ancient gameplay. I mean to me, Halo played stilted anyway. It had these huge environments, but a ridiculous 2 weapon limit (of which the weapons were pretty boring) and regenerating health... lame. Not to mention the shitty vehicle controls, how did this catch on a get good reviews?

I hear this is the start of a new trilogy, and I'm hoping that means a new batch of stories that can stand on their own. Cause I have to say, there is NOTHING I thought was particularly special about Halo. For all the crap over in the Crysis 3 comments about people bitching cause they couldn't use their suit right like dispshits, at least that series tries to make you feel like a might badass. Halo constantly tells you that you are one, and does absolutely fuck all to attempt to convey that into core gameplay.
