Halo 3: Recon probably won't be $60 photo

A few scant details have surfaced regarding Halo 3: Recon, the expansion pack to 2007's Xbox 360 blockbuster. Described as a "three-to-five hour expansion pack," the most amazing news is that this small game probably won't cost sixty bucks!

Bungie doesn't seem to think that a short expansion pack is worth that much money. Of course, what Bungie thinks and what Microsoft wants to do are two separate entities entirely, so we'll have to see on that count.

In other news, the Recon Armor will now be available to all players, provided they complete the Vidmaster Challenge series of achievements. More details are to be found in the latest issue of Game Informer, with some concept art from Bungie rookie Jaime Jones.

So, how much will you pay for three more hours of Halo 3?

I think $20 sounds reasonable although it will probably fall somewhere between $40-50.

I hope that they are reasonable with the pricing, but I'm certainly interested. I'm thinking somewhere between $20 -$25.

If they use something along the lines of Valve's AI Director, I might not mind the price tag. Honestly, after Left 4 Dead, most shooter campaigns are dead to me.

I'd have no quarrel over dropping $20 for a little extra. That's what you pay for a new DVD, and generally get half as much out of it anyways.

You know theyre gonna make something like that $130 Spartan helmet to justify spending more than $60.

I can't wait for Halo 3: Recon 2: Part 1 - Zero Mission. It's a game that has to be made.

Sounds like 15-20 dollar dlc to me,ala Shivering Isles.I see absolutely no reason to print this game on a disc.....anyone who would even be slightly interested would most certainly have the internet.

Does anyone know if this is DLC? Also is it possible that Recon is the rumored Halo title being developed by Gearbox for MS/Bungie? How awesome would Brothers In Arms gameplay set in the Halo universe be? Hmmmm does anyone know any gamlay details? I keep hearing 'stealth' whispered, is there going to be any squad action or is this all solo?

... Bungie already announced the details of Recon. It's Halo 3... but you play as an ODST troop. Same exact gameplay with missions taking part in post-blown up New Mombassa.

The campaign will not be DLC. The multiplayer maps will be (Recon and Halo 3 will share multiplayer). There are no new weapons being added. New maps only.

Recon is a FPS, solo, not squad based. Imagine you're playing as a black Masterchief.

I am guessing $39.99. 'Viva Pinata' and 'Banjo' are already there for precedent's sake. However, this could also be the start of a $30 expansion-esque series of titles.

Im guessing too much. If it costs $60 for Master Chief, and ODST is prolly worth like 3 cents.

I finished it. It's done Bungie. Let it go. Halo had no point. They just kind of threw themes and other crap together. Why more?

The Ratchet and Clank add-on was $20 so Microsoft would be a$$hole$ to charge more and gamers even more so for paying it and encouraging that sort of gouging.

I actually missed the Halo hating bandwagon and actually enjoy the game but would never pay more than $20 for 3 HOURS.
