Microsoft is generous ... I mean, if you can call giving away a free picture that costs nothing to make generous, of course. To celebrate the launch of Halo 3: ODST, a free Premium Theme has been made available for download on Xbox Live. You'll have to hurry though, as it's a limited-time deal.
Naturally, this offer is only available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers, since Microsoft is poverty-stricken and badly needs the cash. A free picture is totally worth signing up to Xbox Live for though, so make sure you go and do it!
ODSTs aren't the only ones getting their hands on upgraded gear to prepare for the upcoming Firefight. Available only for a limited time and free of charge for Xbox LIVE Gold Subscribers, this expertly crafted Halo 3: ODST Premium Theme will get your Xbox 360 ready for a combat drop into the city of New Mombasa.
What are you waiting for? Go and download it right now! Your very life depends on this thing.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Because Harmonix isn't a money whore like most other companies are. Premium themes should all be free. Especially the Braid theme, dammit! I'm still bitter about that.
Still, free is free, so this'll probably be my new theme. Finally replace that free "9" one I got a few weeks ago.
Ohmigod dude how can you even attempt to deny the awesomeness of a Beatles: Rock Band theme? Seriously. In fact I expected one when they put out the Gamer Picture (which looked amazing) and cried when I heard otherwise.
Generous? These things should never cost money to begin with. Don't fall for their game.
No, no, no. Because it's free to make and it's being given away for free is why it's "generous for Microsoft."
Remember the context.
nothing is free to make you economic genius. If someone at Bungie takes the time to make a theme that means he sits down on company time, company property and uses company equipment and expects to get paid in dollars. That is not free. I'm so tired of all you freeloaders and your sense of entitlement.
I'm sure it was grueling work to put that theme together. How did he ever do it in such a timely manner? His wife is probably taking the kids and the dog, he lost tons of friends and is suffering from acute hand cramping from all that programming and masterfully crafting those images. Plus, Microsoft is SOOOOO generous to give us this theme for free I might actually make a donation to that poor software company on the brink of bankrupting itself from providing us all this free shit. A true saint.
But seriously, credit where credit is due. I mean I'm sure dude got paid, but we don't have to pay a thing. From the consumer side, whats wrong with freeloading free things? I think you ought to CHILL.
I got that theme too, I bought that issue of OXM just so I could get the theme. It is pretty sweet, I gotta admit, but I finally replaced it with the ODST theme last night. It was getting stale.
