Halo 3’s "Mythic Map Pack" will be available -- barring any unfortunate upload difficulties -- on Xbox LIVE Marketplace in a mere two days. In early celebration, Bungie released a hilarious trailer today detailing all the content that comes with the download. (It’s available after the jump.)
The map pack will include three maps: Assembly, Orbital, and Sandbox. The remarkable map of the bunch (and the video really illustrates this) is the three-tiered Sandbox. If you’re already drooling over the potential of Forge shenanigans for a level so large, go get a bigger spit catcher. The map also adds a golf club, golf ball, and a tin cup to the list of Forge objects.
In addition to the video, Bungie also unleashed the "Halo 3 Mythic" premium theme on Xbox Live Marketplace. It’s 250 Microsoft Points and looks a hell of a lot better than the standard stuff Microsoft supplied with NXE.
Wow I didn't know about the lower crypt level in sandbox, going to go check that out next time I'm playing Halo 3. I got to say though, Sandbox isn't all that in matchmaking, just not a very fun map to me and Orbital can get annoying, then again I don't know the map and get lost all the time. But Assembly is just great, perfect map for Team BRs.
I'm glad my friend gave me the code to download them, he got Halo Wars, but he never plays Halo 3. Anyone thinking about buying these, do it.
I got my code with the collector's Halo Wars, which came out a week earlier than the states over here....I wish I had sold the code on ebay for $40 since i haven't played it as much as I thought I would have.
Sandbox is pretty amazing, Orbital is fun, too. I'mmore of a fan of large outdoor Big team maps, though.
My only problem with halo is they force you to download the map packs, coz if you don't then you can't play kline ranked or half of the other game options. Cod4 had the best set up you don't have the maps then you don't get placed on those games it's pretty simple really. Don't screw your fans out of the game.
Sandbox is ace, especially since you can get outside the map for even more space! There won't be any upload difficulties since it was put on a month ago and works fine.
Man that was an awesome video, but there aint no way im going to pay 800 points for that pack, since I barely play H3 anymore and the fact i got screwed over buying the last two map packs before their price drops :(.
Ill wait till it goes down to 600 then ill pounce, till then its GTA4/Lost Odyssey times :)!

Yes. This pack is really one half of the mythic map pack, the other half(as well as this one) will ship with ODST

Though I prefer the visceral feeling of Killzone 2 more, Halo 3 is one of the most complete, balanced FPS's ever. Honestly.
Also, best Halo Ad ever
