Halo 3 Mythic 2 Map pack available for download February photo

If you purchased Halo 3: ODST last year, you already have the Mythic 2 Map Pack. But for everyone else, the wait is finally over. The three maps previously only available on the ODST disc will be available for download on Xbox LIVE on February 2.

The map pack will cost you 800 MS Points, and comes with three maps -- "Heretic," "Citadel," and "Longshore."

For more details on the maps themselves, ask anyone who plays Halo regularly. Or check out our preview from last August.

How long until I get these for free. Or the previous map packs for free for that matter?

I believe the Legendary and Heroic packs are free. I had downloaded them shortly before ODST came out, and they were free, although it may have been a promotional thing or something.

If they aren't free, just go buy a used copy of ODST for 30 bucks. You'll get all the maps and another game for the same price as 3 map packs.

"You can only get the last 3 Mythic Maps by purchasing a retail copy of Halo 3: ODST." - Bungie Studios, 2009

How did I know the above statement was bullshit? Because money.

The online matchmaking does not incorporate the new mythic maps into itts playlist. You have to go into the mythic only playlist, where you only can only play team slayer. Even then, for some reason you will never play longshore. Since ODST, I have yet to play an online match in that map. Its not just me, go to the bungie.net forums and you will see this posted everywhere. Maybe theres a glitch with that map or something. If anyone knows anything about this subject, post it...I'd like to know why this is.

Because no other company has ever done that? No other game has charged for previously 'only available this way' content? If I remember correctly the official statement was early access to the maps, not exclusivity.

If anyone bought ODST for the maps, they're stupid. If you didn't and want the maps, now you can get them.

Good ol' Halo. Those maps were the best part of ODST

@Chronic
Because you can't play on any good playlists online unless you have all the map packs.

I'm more-so confused as hell by all the packs than angry, to be honest. There's so many, and some are free/some aren't/they're on ODST/timed free maps/etc.

Hey man i feel your pain. I think I have played a total of three times on longshore. And the worst thing is its easily the best of the three maps. I thought I was just unlucky for ages, I had no idea this was a wider problem

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring.

I think I had a Halo overdrive and will probably never go back except for renting Bungies future Halo releases to complete the campaigns over the weekends that I can afford the time to play them.
Their multiplayer is just so old news nowadays and really needs some massive improvements.

1. Rent ODST
2. Play ODST during rental period
3. Swap your Halo 3 disc with Halo 3 Complete Multiplayer Experience disc
4. Return ODST
5. All Map packs for 8 dollars

They should have made it available at the same time as ODST, dick move Microsoft!

None of them are good maps, none of them have the Laser.

Bungie is not responsible for the pricing or release of these map packs. You want to bitch, bitch at Microsoft.

Longshore is a really good map from what I have played. I thought these were available from when ODST was released, because they are on the disc I havnt looked at the map pack on live. Ignorance is bliss, and I is mighty blissfull.

I would much rather play Halo than CoD, though much of my time is spent on L4D, I do love me some Griffball.

TheDirtyHobo could be onto something there....illigal but onto something.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
