Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

According to Swedish gaming Web site InsideGamer, it has been confirmed that Halo 3 will be playable with up to four people in an online cooperative game. This news comes out of a press conference in Amsterdam, where Microsoft and Bungie revealed this highly anticipated feature.

In a wild NeoGAF thread of people scrambling for confirmation, Bungie's Luke Smith interjected a one word confirmation, causing the Internet to explode all over itself: "Believe."

There's not much else to say here, as little more has been revealed. It is what it is, and what it is happens to be awesome. I'll leave you Halo fans to your hyperventilating. More information should be coming in later -- stay tuned!

Good. This feature was unearth during the beta. There was some text left in the beta talking about 4-play co-op, glad to see it wasn't a red herring.

I heard that in two player Halo 3 coop, one player plays Master Chief and the other plays the Arbiter. Who will the other two players play in four player coop?

Besides Master Chief and the Arbiter, the other two coop playable characters are Orcist and Dan Acroyd from the original Ghostbusters.

First of all, I think Distrato was joking about the 40 player co-op. Does Killzone even have co-op?

Second, can you even imagine 40-player co-op on PSN? You could get every PSN member in one co-op game!

Sweet. I hope that it ramps up the difficulty the more players you have co-op, or else it will be way to easy with 4 experience players.

Translation time from Swedish! The main article has some info that might have been translated in the meantime, but fuck it.

----

Dutch guy gets a demonstration:
The demonstration started with a scene where the Master Chief was in a jungle-like environment, full of beautiful dense foliage through which sunlight came. One look at the demo and you instantly saw how much better than the beta this looks! Alongside the MC you could see a couple of marines, but more interesting was the Arbiter.

<Some epeculation about playing the Arbiter follows, nothing new>

After the first meeting, we instantly found ourselves in the action. The enemy, consisting of Grunts, Jackals and Brutes were not aware of our presence, and in the beginning there are a bit of sneaking in order to stealthily kill the enemies <booooooooo!>. This can't last for long of course, and the Covenant noticed us after about 20 seconds <yaay!> after which a big shootout happened with bullets and grenades flying everywhere. Especially throwing grenades was highly enjoyable, because they deliver a beautiful explosion while a plasmagranade goes off with a nice blue explosion.

<they move on>
They go into a dark cave, which was nicely lit by red torches. After this cave we reached some kind of base, with a nearby river. The water in the beta was goodlooking, but in singleplayer it looks so much better. The base you enter is obviously also full of Covenant troops and another shootout follows. A new thing was that the Brute Shot was used in this shootout, which led to some more delicious explosions.

Inside the base we also got a first look at a stronger Brute enemy, who made it difficult for the MC. Once the MC picks up a turret (like in the beta), the Brute went down quickly. That concluded the demo.

The final thoughts state that it still feels like Halo, with chaotic and tense shootouts. You also get to see Johnson and Cortana again. But the most important thing was how it looked a lot better visually.

----

All in all not much news. Most of it was covered in the previous demo's? Some more pics inside the article.

Found this bit of info on Kotaku...

According to a recent Bungie announcement in Amsterdam, Halo 3 will indeed have 4-player co-op. One player will take the role of Master Chief, another will be The Arbiter and the last two (the suckers) will be Elites.
