yeah it says beta, but it also a video of Halo 3. that might be the reason it is probably real. Probably an early beta version, but there is no possible way that somebody pulled that out of their ass, it looks like a legit beta video.
How would somebody honestly fake all of that? they even have the energy shields. the walking looks slower in that video than walking in Halo or Halo2. but hey, its a beta, i am sure they are constantly tweaking every tiny little setting every day and playtesting it.
it looks pretty genuine to me. The only sort of "crappy" looking parts are the menu systems...they still look like a major work in progress compared to the in-game.
You'd think that if it were fake it would at least be more interesting. I see no reason to think it isn't real. Who would spend the time faking up something so boring?

I've actually had the good fortune of playing the beta myself (I live in Seattle --> I have a handful of friends who work in certain departments of a certain company...) and although this doesn't at all authenticate it, it sure does look very consistent with everything I've seen, even down to the loading screen with numbers a'flying in the lower right corner. Could be faked, sure, but The Brain raises a good point and it looks completely consistent with everything I've seen. Take that for what it's worth.
It could very well be real. But like I said, until Bungie or Microsoft come out and say it is, it's hard for me to believe it. With every single fake screenshot and vid that hits the Internet about anything and everything, we always have to be careful and skeptical.
If I have to sacrifice Gears-like graphics to have massive mutliplayer battles with no lag, then I would do it. I have no issues whatsoever with graphics so long as the gameplay on the multiplayer side is solid. I don't care about single player. The Halo single player is fine, but multiplayer is where it's at for me, as a gamer. I am a multiplayer kind of gamer, and that's where Halo 2 shined for me.

However, playing online with a bunch of faceless 11-year olds who spout racist comments over the servers while their mothers aren't home just.....it doesn't cut it.
This is a COVETED video game, considered to be one of the best of all-time.
Why?
That campaign mode just flat-out sucks, and yet that issue is completely ignored because of an above-average multiplayer? One not nearly as good as CS, Socom or Unreal?
People talk about how Wii fans jumped on the bandwagon after an impressive showing at E3.
That bandwagon is miniscule compared to the one Halo fans ride on.
Yeah, Halo 2 players on XBL are, quite often, a few chromosomes short. Still, if you can connect with enough good people, maybe join a decent clan, it's still pretty damn enjoyable. I jump on there for a couple of hours every other night. (Psst. Join me, peoples. Especially if you have boobs or are Summa. Or if you're Summa with boobs.)
Besides, if you don't let them get to you, the retards are monumentally entertaining.
Ok, after seeing the video, I have to come forward Im pretty sure that IS real (although Im not sure if thats not the alpha). heres why
1.- You could in theory have modified Halo 1 pc and added a Zanzibar level, maybe modified the HUD so it looks a la metroid prime and shown the correct Xbox 360 buttons. HOWEVER unless you have the source code, you CANT ADD WEAPONS (and you can ask modders out there about that) in the video, you could modify a weapon but IT WOULD ACT AS A HALO 1 WEAPON.
You can clearly see the use the bubble shield (which uses direct x 9 shaders not available in Halo: CE mind you) and the new laser gun. Theres NO WAY you can MOD that in any other version of Halo, those weapons DO NOT exist.
Here are some other things shown in the video that simply DO NOT exist in Halo 1 or 2.
*Bubble shield
*Man cannons
*Weapons in the back.
*Laser gun
*Energy generator (in the back of the level)
*Moongose.
*The sight in the sniper gun was turned into a "night vision" thingy instead of just a zoom.
*The Game looks slightly better than halo 2
If this is a fake is pretty much the best fake ever made in history, attention to detail is incredible.
Im going to just say it, as a graphics person, game coder and Halo fan this looks 100% real.
And yes, the graphics look just slightly better than those in the alpha (theres HRD and a subtle bloom effect in some scenes which was missing in the Alpha), so yeah thats pretty much is how the beta will look like apparently. (I like it)
Certain "rumors" are unavoidable. It's one thing to have this strong beta video and another to have another rumor about another FF game going multiplatform.
