There has been some speculation that a new video found floating around the Internet might be some sort of viral advertisement for Half-Life 2: Episode 3. It looks like that theory is pretty bunk, but it's still a really cool and well-produced video, so we've decided to share it regardless of its status.
Check out the not-really-viral video after the jump. Who knows? Maybe it IS an official video from Valve, made to look like a fake official video, to create a viral viral video so steeped in meta that the very fabric of reality will start to collapse in on itself, and Jessie Jackson will reveal he was white all along.

I can tell from the signs and car license plates in the video that it was filmed in The Netherlands, so it doesn't seem logic that it was a VALVe video.
WOW! What an amazing video. If someone did this who wasn't valve, great props to them because it was really well done. I can't wait for HL 2: Ep3 its gonna kick ass!
This reminds me of something. Why is it that first person games don't have a head level camera? When you look down you should see all your body up to your shoulders, whereas in games you're happy if you can see your legs. Seems like they put the camera on your chest, or belly (or knees in the case of killzone 2 :p).
My guess is that it's official something- otherwise, why bother lugging for Samsung and LG? But whatever it is, it's probably not Valve. This could be a new super-sponsored movie by the guys who did Escape from City 17. Or not.
I'm guessing that this is probably something for someone's demo reel. Someone put a lot of work into this, but it has a lot of things in it that keep it from being made by Valve, like the multiple brand names, the Combine not being in their normal costumes, the weapons not being right, lots of things. Most likely its a very talented filmmaker who's a fan of the games, and has put this together as a pet project.
Considering that it used a few music bits from Lost, my favorite show, so at first I would doubt it's real. But then again, it has it's own site that is rather... omnious.. REALLY omnious. Click the embedded video and check the description for the link if you havent.
Even if this isn't real, there was some new Combine sound bits I heard ("Take him down!" is one of them.) Maybe Valve sent someone out to do a video for them? In any case, I want Valve to release a combine kiddie helmet with a vecoder so I can sound just like a metro cop! (Oppressive nature sold separately.)

That would be the definitive Half Life film
And it would be amazing
Great vid tho
My guess is that this video will have a lot of the sounds replaced for the final version, and it will actually be a viral video for Singularity.
I do wonder what it really is for
Weren't supposed to give us news before 2009?
