Valve has confirmed with Shacknews that one of the best values in gaming, Half-Life 2: The Orange Box, will be shipping on October 9, 2007. For those who've been too busy coddling their plush Master Chief toys to care, The Orange Box is a behemoth of a product, a dream collection that sounds like a coked up fanboy's imagination gone wild.
Packed in will be the original Half-Life 2, last year's Half-Life: Episode One, as well as the the brand new chapter, Half-Life: Episode Two. As if that wasn't enough, Valve will be throwing in the all-new Team Fortress 2 and the cooler-than-heck DigiPen student project turned all fancy, Portal. The PC version of the suite will be distributed over Valve's Steam service, but retail hags and console owners (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, only) can pick up their copies in stores for $49.99 and $59.99, respectively.
October can't come soon enough, and I certainly hope Valve can deliver the product on time. I'm going to need something to do while everybody I know is too busy playing Halo 3 to shower, eat, or talk to me.
I just want to play Portal. >_<
Because the 360 version costing more than the PS3 version would just be crazy talk.
This will be pre-loaded and ready to go at midnight that day! w00000000000000000000000000000000tage.
I think they do, but only via Steam. There was going to be a PC retail box with just Ep. 2, TF2, and Portal called the Black Box, but that got the axe.
NO
Originally they were planning a Black box on the PC and the Orange box on the PC, 360, and PS3. But for reasons unknown (or I just forget) they scrapped the Black box and you have to get the whole bundled deal.
Their thoughts were if you already own the originals, you can give them to a friend.
NICK you pull yourself away from Guitar Hero long enough and maybe we can frag suckers while everyone is winning haloes..
I'll admit that Team Fortress 2 looks pretty sweet, but I play games online about twice a year, so its just fluff for me.
I just blew coffee out my nose.
Let me prepare all my ducks in this virtual row I have here.
The Simpsons Game
Bioshock
Metroid Prime 3
Halo 3 (in cheap plastic case form)
Mass Effect
GTAIV
Half Life 2:Orange
Beautiful Katamari
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Super Mario Galaxy
Guys? STOP IT!
For all these awesome releases that are coming, I've got shit to play right now. Right now, I'm playing Lego Star Wars, Crackdown, and Puzzle Quest. ANYONE of the above listed games could rectify my imminent boredom and put cash in your pocket. You game companies are RETARDS for staggering a deluge of games in such a short time frame. As a result, most of these titles will go unpurchased until sometime next year. Games like this one.
So, my 2008 list is lookin' pretty nice. Too bad I couldn't get more of these games NOW.
Apart from tf2 I really am looking forward to Episode 2 and Portal. Episode 1 in itself was amazing but very short, the action in episode 1 felt more intense then half-life 2's main single player did. I really cannot wait for this package and such a good deal it is ;D
TF2 YEAH!
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Halo 3: $59
Bioshock: $59
Mass Effect: $59
Army of Two: $59
Assassins Creed: $59
Project Sylpheed: $39 (yay!)
Half Life Orange: $59
Dirt: $59
Unreal Tournament 3: $59
GRAND FUCKING TOTAL: $541.66 with Michigan sales tax
I'm sure I'm missing something...

Now to decide if I want to buy it for ps3 or 360.
