Something is wrong when a trailer for a machinima film is more exciting than that of a "real" movie. Or maybe, something is so very right.
This trailer for a Half Life 2 machinima film, Shadows of the Dead, hits the spot on many levels. Zombies, solid editing, intense music ... an extremely hokey voice over. Okay, I'll let that slide.
The trailer is a finalist in Liongate's The Condemned (the movie starring "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, not game) machinima contest, and was produced by the folks over at Mighty Crane Films.
You might recognize Mighty Crane's name or work -- we posted another one of their short films, "The Ballad of Black Mesa," a few months ago.

A Steam store page has appeared for Half-Life 2: Episode 3 and I'm sure it's totally legit. It's actually just a joke from CheapShark, but wouldn't it be funny if Valve really did announce it today? It being real would be the best joke of all.more
