The one thing I’ve always loved about Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy games  -- excluding Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and that Lone Wolf abomination -- is the realism. When bullet meets flesh, the bullet always wins. In the case of H.A.W.X., Ubisoft’s upcoming jet fighting game, realism is displayed through physics and environments.

Ubisoft’s authenticity coordinator, Travis Getz, opens the above video by explaining the realistic ace up Ubi’s sleeve -- a company named GeoEye.

GeoEye archives and retrieves high fidelity satellite imagery of Earth. The environments in H.A.W.X. are built off that data, making all the landscapes in the game insanely authentic. You may not be able to see your house, but you can find a ballpark in its appropriate position.

Speaking of real, check out GeoEye’s communications and marketing dude, Mike Brender. That guy is really happy to talk on camera.

I think I know the question on everyone's mind... Can you blow up that statue?

You can't blow up the statue, I tried that in the demo

Naw ... that guy from GeoEye isn't reading his introduction from a written script card that's hanging in front of him. Keep your day job, Mr. Brender. Acting just isn't in the cards for you.

Anyway, the graphics on that game look freaking phenomenal. Hopefully, it will play as well as it looks.

The other question on everyone's mind is: where is the giant walking mega-cannon we're going to take out to save our country, along with a dramatic "war is hell" narrative?

God, I want this, and then a new Ace Combat game.

Does this mean we'll be circling an actual round planet instead of a flat plain surface map? How about realistic blackout after one too many G-force.

You read my mind. I want to know if this game is going to have any ridiculous over the top shit like Ace Combat has.

I'm looking forward to this game, the demo spoiled me a little. I go back to Ace Combat and the game feels slow now.
