Gungnir launch trailer causes SRPG arousal

12:15 PM on 06.13.2012

If you like strategy RPGs then you'll know exactly who Sting is. As a SRPG fan I eat up their releases as fast as they can put them out. Currently, I'm gnawing on PSP game Gungnir, which should be hitting shelves right about now. I've been playing for a few weeks now, but I still feel like I'm nowhere near finished.

How is it? Nice, but a bit different. The battle system is really deep, and it took me a few battles to really get the hang of it. And even then I'm still learning some of its aspects, like the time management side. If you've been craving a change from the standard SRPG battle system, Gungnir definitely delivers.

Oh, and the fights themselves are pretty challenging. If you like to have your strategy balls busted, this is your game.

Basically, if you like strategy RPGs, you're going to like Gungnir. Hopefully this will hold you over until I can finish the game. This and the new launch trailer.

Review: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was an intelligent riff on the perils of high school -- you know, if you had thrown a murder mystery in between classes and the principal was a maniacal stuffed animal. Its sequel, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, takes a beleaguered trope and turns it on its head. This is one "trapped on a desert island" story that takes things to another level entirely.more
