Once again though, I'm disappointed they aren't releasing this on a budget disc so I could have some cheesy cover art and whatnot. Which reminds me, I need to track down a copy of Target Terror.

Fuck yea, I remember playing this arcade game. Fucking hell the light guns were fucking HUGE. Seriously, and the gun has too much recoil/rumble. My fingers went fucking numb after a couple minutes. But it was fun to see those enemy robots getting torn apart.
I also remember playing a tank arcade game, the cabinet was shaped as a tank cockpit with a steering wheel and pedals. You played as a tank in a third or first person view with the objective of the game was shooting other tanks of the opposing team. Everytime you fired the cannon, the cabinet recoiled and kept saying "hit!" everytime you shot another tank. I forgot what the arcade game was called, a shame, cause it was fun.

First, I was wondering if they were going to edit out the World Trade Center from Gunblade NY. Second, playing the arcade akimo was an unforgettable experience.
oh my god, I used to play these in arcades ! the only problem with a "home" version, is they won't have those weighted, vibrating, pivoting machine guns. maybe there's a peripheral on the market I can use ?

Gunblade NY was my fave machine in the local arcade before it got shut, might pick this up for old times sake.
Yeah I don't know how well this will translate without the grossly oversized vibrating two-handed machine gun action.
Wow. It really is amazing how the passage of time fucks with your memories. The last time I played these games in the arcade I thought they looked incredible. And that is exactly how I thought of them all these years. Now they look like something that the iPhone could do without straining the hardware. I just hope that the memories of how fun those games were is not clouded by the retrogoggles as well.
I remember this looking waaay better in the arcades. I guess we really are jaded when it comes to new technology. Now I'm wondering why we didn't get this game sooner,but it couldn't have come to a better console (cept if it was in HD)
I'm glad people are listening and putting up more light gun games on the Wii. Hopefully we'll get the rest of them on Wii or maybe even the PS3 with their motion control. Though they might need a gun peripheral. Glad I didn't buy Time Crisis with the Guncon. Hopefully they can patch it for PS3.

I think the Dave & Busters near me still has a working LA Machineguns cabinet. Ah, for the days when you didn't need any more plot than, "The President's been kidnapped by robots, are you a bad enough dude to blow up LA and rescue him?"
Wow, LA Machineguns. They still have that game at my closest Dave & Busters. Not sure how well the transfer from a Point-and-Shoot (w/ huge cannon-guns, nonetheless) to the controller will carry over.
