Guitar Hero Van Halen achievements reveal first details photo

Although it's not been officially announced, we've heard of this game called Guitar Hero Van Halen. We can't be sure it exists, but rumors, retail listings, and German ratings boards seem to indicate that it does. As do the handful of rumored achievements for the Xbox 360 version of the game that Destructoid exclusively got its hands on today.

If they are legitimate (and we have every reason to believe they are), they reveal quite a bit about a game which we previously only knew the name of. Three Van Halen tracks that will be playable are mentioned by name -- "Little Guitars," "Cathedral," "Spanish Fly," and the instrumental guitar-gymnastics classic "Eruption." Real-world locations like West Hollywood, Dallas, London, The Netherlands, Los Angeles, and Rome are also revealed.

In terms of features, it appears the game will be full-band experience, as expected. "Expert+" mode on drums will be making a comeback from Guitar Hero Metallica, as well. One Achievement ("Ouch!") hints at what we believe could be a new option in the game's create-a-character, custom tattoos. And finally, Eddie Van Halen's famous "Frankenstein" guitar (picture above) will be unlockable.

The full list of achievements (minus the secret achievements) can be found after the jump. It's interesting to note the names of them, which could hint at other playable in-game tracks (i.e. "Running With the Devil," "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love"). Feel free to speculate away.

We contacted Activision to verify the validity of the achievements and game details, but were told they "don't comment on rumor and speculation."

"Runnin' With The Devil" and "Jump" seem confirmed, I'm happy so far. But nothing about "Jamie's Cryin'?" It's a simple song but I love it for that.

And it feels like the secret achievements are hiding the special "guest" acts that will be coming with this. Or they're being arses and are just going to be all "Hey, get 100% on the hardest song in the game in Expert+" and "Get this ridiculously high score on this song." Knowing how the series has been going so far, I'm thinking it'll be more of the latter.

The Frankenstrat is sweet, too bad we won't see reproduction. EVH's parent company is Fender, and the Frankenstrat is a 70s body strat gutted and cut up to fit ES-335 bridge pup among other fucked up shit(vinyl lp pickguard, eleminating pots, etc).

A GH genericaster would be unacceptable.

As long as "Right Now" is included, it's a day one purchase.
