At this point, I think it's obvious that Activision has no real intentions of supporting Guitar Hero III with significant downloadable content. The next obvious step is Guitar Hero IV, which according to rumor (and a drunk, naked Captain Obvious), is already in the works. While we've heard rumors of an Aerosmith-flavored Guitar Hero, check out this new bit of rumor, snagged from this "Quartermann" section of this month's Electronic Gaming Monthly:
This seems to be an obvious reference to Irish mega-group U2, who have sold a few albums since the early-80s. With Slash appearing in Guitar Hero III and most of its marketing, one could guess (and hope, actually) that this fourth sequel to a sequel will be Guns N' Roses-related. Or Slash's Snakepit. Or Earth, Wind, & Fire. [Via The Tanooki] Next page: More Guitar Hero stories ![]()
