I've gone on record a few times as being disappointed by the lack of variety in the Guitar Hero series recently, and as much as this trailer does absolutely nothing to change that opinion (and actually covers it in an impenetrable shell of Aqua Net), I have to admit, I have a spot of wood over this whole concept.
If they could only implement my idea of a peripheral that launches panties at your head while playing, I think it could be a hit.
You know what? Fuck Guitar Hero: 80's Edition and not their not bringing it to the 360 crap. I sold my PS2 Guitar and my copy of Guitar Hero because I like playing on my 360 better (achievements, friends leaderboards, downloadable content) and then they pull this crap.
As much as I hate the fact these games are all the same, I would have gladly bought this game for the 360 so I could rock out to some 80's songs. Now since they're making this only for the PS2, all I have to say is fuck this game.

Still, the fact they haven't even mentioned anything about a 360 version is just annoying as hell. They release the 360 version, decide it didn't do well enough I guess, and then crap all over the people that bought the 360 version by not releasing it to the 360.
I know this will eventually make it to the 360 (or at least hope), but I know it's going to take a very long time. By the time it's released on the 360 is will already be old news like Guitar Hero II was.
@Nex
It ptobably will eventually but after all the DLC is added up, it will probably cost around $70 at their currrent rate.
Also, how does this "expansion" thing work on PS2? Do you need the original and then swap the new disc in or is it just a bare bones version of the game by itself? I really don't plan on buying it since I hat 90% of mainstream 80's music, but I'm curious on how it works.
I would only buy the 360 version as well. But only if it were 'value' priced. "Rocks the 80's" is to Guitar Hero as Vice City was to GTA3. Same damn game but with an 80's twist.
All subsequent GH releases should merely be expansions of the original game and priced as such.
