And we're not talking about the bashing over the head to show off kind of guitar busting either. This guy, Danny Johnson, is classy. He's a real musician who plays piano, guitar, drums, saxophone and oboe IRL, says The New York Times. But even with his respect for the musical instruments, he still manages to blow through dozens of guitars on his climb to the top.
Where is the top, you ask? It was at a Best Buy store in Manhattan, where this 14-year-old achieved a score of 973,954 on the DragonForce tune "Through the Fire and Flames" in Guitar Hero III. He broke the world record, coming close to hitting all 3,722 notes perfectly, but missed just short of perfect because the blue button broke under his fierce finger power.
And the 80 Guitar Hero guitars he's gone through? That was in just nine months' time.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I hate pro gamers of all ages.
I rip out like 80,000 points on that song on easy and have yet to break my guitar.
GuitarHeroPhenom 100% video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wkZYBJGaMk
GuitarHeroPhenom, or Danny Johnson, has posted a bunch of his stuff on his YouTube. He's also the first to 100% The Devil Went Down to Georgia. I take it since he was in front of alot of people, he didn't FC (Full Combo) the song there.
Seriously though, he is the best GH player in the world. He's just a beast. Just look at his vids.
obvious joke time: when he hits a million - CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU'RE.... A...... FAG!!!
And yea, that's pretty insane.
But then I got to the last paragraph and had to double check. Yep, pretty possible, it turns out.

Look at the complete lack of emotion. Why even bother at that point? Play to have fun, jeez.
Also, don't blame broken buttons when you clearly fucked up (6:52 in the video) If the button was broke you wouldn't have finished the song with 4x multiplier.
I can't even get the bass line on easy right.
But imagine if this kid put that effort into a real guitar? He'd rival Carlos Santana, FFS! I guess GH is easier since it gives you feedback on how well you're doing, and gives you points even when absolutely crap. You don't get that with a real guitar.
