Guitar Hero 5's entire setlist exposed photo

With only about a month to go before Guitar Hero 5's September 1 release, Activision has decided to reveal the game's final 15 tracks. Oddly, a number of the tracks had already been revealed during or around E3 (Arctic Monkeys' "Brianstorm" and Stevie Wonders' "Superstition," for example).

But let's act surprised:

  • 3 Doors Down - "Kryptonite"
  • Arctic Monkeys - "Brianstorm"
  • Blink-182 - "The Rock Show"
  • Dire Straits - "Sultans Of Swing"
  • Jimmy Eat World - "Bleed American"

  • Stevie Wonder - "Superstition"
  • The Killers - "All The Pretty Faces"
  • The Raconteurs - "Steady As She Goes"
  • TV On The Radio - "Wolf Like Me"

For those following along, you might notice that the game features 85 songs, but not 85 individual bands or artists. So what's getting doubled up? Nirvana gets two tracks ("Lithium (Live)," "Smells Like Teen Spirit") and David Bowie appears on two songs (his own "Fame" and Queen's "Under Pressure"). See anything we missed?

The remainder of the set list can be found after the jump.

  • A Perfect Circle - "Judith"
  • AFI - "Medicate"
  • Attack! Attack! UK - "You And Me"
  • Band Of Horses - "Cigarettes, Wedding Bands"

Looks like a pretty solid tracklist overall. Shame it's Guitar Hero :)

American Girl, All Along the Watchtower, Sympathy for the Devil and Ring of Fire?! Rock Band better step it up...

Theres only two songs I see there that I'm really gonna be missing from Rock Band... but did they really have to be Judith and more importantly, Sultans of Swing? Without having seen any hint of either of those bands on the Harmonix side of the fence, I'm a bit sad.
Other than that, its still typical Activision/Neversoft: songs that are great to listen to, but too many are probably not the best choices for a game, being too easy or boring or just not fitting right.

Still, I find it interesting (and pleasing) that theres a large number of bands who are quite happy to go with either franchise. More fun for everyone.

I dunno. In my opinion this game is having a hard time "bringing the rock".

Well the game is called Guitar Hero not "Rock" Hero. So it doesn't totally have to be rock or metal songs.

For every good song, there´s at least 5 horrible ones.

Why da hell this happens? Cant you make a single music game filled ONLY with good songs from the 70´s, 80´s and 90´s?

Cant you people see that anything recorded after 2001 is just plain trash?

@ajaxender: Funny, that's what I think of RockBand's usual stuff. Doesn't stop it from being fun though. But this list is not that great. Man, it would be awesome if GH was given the dlc treatment and compatibility that RB has. That ain't never going to happen though.

Man, that's a really super set list. It's just a shame that compared to Rock Band GH's charting is really no damned fun to play.

Argh, this is really irritating. That's an amazingly solid setlist for a very poorly charted series. Here's hoping that many of those tracks were also licensed for Rock Band at the same time, like what happened the past two years. I see a handful of songs already available for Rock Band.

They have Elliott Smith!! I've freaked out about L.A. before, though... I still won't buy this but it's awesome to see an Elliott Smith song in the game!

@ podebeijaranoiva I didn't know music snobs still existed outside of pitchfork, good to know you're still around.

Although that being said, the last GH I owned was 2. Never got into the whole band thing, and won't until they release a Rolling Stones version.

There are some songs i love in there ( like Ring of Fire or Dancing With Myself), but I think I'll still hold on to RB.

SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE! That plus "Judith" by A Perfect Circle almost make this a must have for me.

Y'know, I finally hopped on current-gen consoles, got a PS3, and I have no rhythm games for it. I played a whole ton of Rock Band at friend's houses in the past, hated Guitar Hero after it was handed over to Neversoft... but good lord, if there's a bundle for this game with just a guitar like they did for World Tour, I might have to pick this up based on the strength of that setlist.

@Br0th3rGr1mm

I really hope that's a joke.

Really solid setlist though. Shame that my yearly rhythm game allowance is probably going to go towards the Beatles Rock Band. Also, not towards a company that squeezes out a new Guitar Hero every three months.

Good setlist, but I'm spending my cash on Beatles RB and DJ Hero. At least there's a helluva lot less Top 40 bullshit than there was in World Tour (Paramore? What I've Done? Really?).

heres my take on guitar hero. the last like 4 things they put out were shit. guitar hero 3 was the best last thing they put out. podebeijaranoiva is absolutley right. for every good song there like 5 or 6 songs ive nvr heard of and they suck nevertheless. and by the way wtf happened to the disturbed songs! i mean not that im a huge metal fan but if you have a good band in guiar hero 3, then why the fuck wouldn't you have it in nxt 4 games you put out. Especially with the metallica game, um, hello its music genre is fucking metal!! w.e. guitar hero should have stuck with mostly the same types of songs and bands they did from the beginning instead of trying to get new bands, unless they're good that is. for example I applaud them for getting dire straits, the billy squire song lonley is the night is great too along with smells like teen spirit and spirit of the radio, but as for the other bands, ill just throw a few names out there: screeming trees,Sunny Day Real Estate, Iggy pop: I mean WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU? you know what both gh and rock band need...led zeppelin. I mean Robert Plant, stop being a dueche and just put some songs on one of the games. w.e im getting off topic. guitar hero should spend like 2 years to make 1 amazing game with a great setlist with mostly 70's rock, maybe some 80's metal, Im more of a classic rock type person. And make it CHALLENGING. gh aerosmith was a joke...

Are you all high or possibly just retarded this is the worst setlist I've ever seen for gh I'm so dissapointed. And to the moron that doesn't know who Iggy Pop is you should be drug out back and shot repetedly for being so ignorant those guys probably influenced most if not all of the bands that you listen too. As for the rest of you who think that this is a solid setlist you should be ashamed of yourseves for having such a horrible taste in music

The Raconteurs are one of the best bands to come out this decade. Glad to see they've a got a song on here along with a track pack.

It's a pretty solid setlist, and as much as I hate Activision. I'm picking this up.

hahaha wow... So i picked this game up as a rental the other night as was pretty stoked to try it out.. It started off with feel good inc. and blue orchid.. I thought it was gonna have some great songs after that. And as i went through the game the songs kept getting worse and worse and worse... Until just hearing some of the songs made u want to slit your wrists because they are just so horrible. Anyways i liked blue orchid, sex on fire, feel good inc, and anyway she goes.. To bad half those songs are on rockbands dlc list and 10x harder for drums and bass. Hated this game, and it seems that guitar hero is trying to regain there fans by putting anything out there.... Guitar hero metallica and guitar hero greatest hits seemed to be just quickly made and thrown out too... Like cmon, Rockband is only focusing on the beetles title, instead of also focusing on a Rock band 3.... But then again the setlist for rock band is already unlimited. Guitar hero NEEDS to step it up a huge notch.

these setlists are gettin worse with the exception of GH metallica they are getting more and more not rock or metal i mean theres bloody johnny cash though he is a good artist i personally dont think would fit into guitar hero but they do have thin lizzy, t rex, rolling stones, iron maiden and nirvana but they did have such a good line up up to 3 then they dropped it for bands i never heard of and they definatly should have put some SOAD, disturbed and slipknot in this i definatly wont buy this. looks crap(:
