Guitar Hero 5 ESRB listing hints at Nirvana track, more photo
  share: Twitter Facebook Reddit Digg
filed under: #Xbox 360

The good old ESRB is at it again, rating Guitar Hero 5 the predictable “T for Teen” rating, and revealing some track listing details in the process.

In its description the ESRB reveals some scandalous lyrical content for some already announced songs: Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire” (“Your sex is on fire”) and Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)” (“Wanna get a belly full o’ beer”).

Some other lyrical content listed points to other, unannounced tracks. “He’s gonna do another strip tease” is likely a reference to lyrics in Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life,” with “Light Me up a cigarette” being a line from Sublime’s “What I Got.” Another snippet of lyrics, “I’m so horny” could be a reference to an Ashanti track but is more likely Nirvana’s “Lithium” (“I'm so horny/That's okay/My will is good”).

Last week, one person in the comments of our Guitar Hero 5 box art story hinted that “Lithium,” “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and “Come As You Are” would all appear on the Guitar Hero 5 disc. While the rumor is mostly unsubstantiated, it’s interesting to note that those were the only three tracks from Nirvana’s classic Nevermind that were mysteriously missing from the Nirvana track pack released for Rock Band 2 awhile back.

The plot, it thickens.

I hope so. Screw Harmonix for releasing every song on that album BUT those.

The "I don't get angry when my mom smokes pot" line from "What I Got" wasn't questioned?

That Kings of Leon song drives me freakin' nuts! Your sex is on fire???? Does that mean it's a pop song about accusing your partner of having herpes? I guess that lyric rolls off the tongue better than, "It burns when you pee-ee."

Meh, I'm done with Nirvana. Unless they release something off of In Utero or Insecticide.

Indeed, those were the only Nirvana tracks that I would have paid to download, too.
