Guitar Hero 2 for 360 releasing in March photo

Rumors of  Guitar Hero being moved over to practically every console in existence have been rampant for a while now. Well, it looks like we've finally got a release date for the 360 version from Activision. Guitar Hero 2 will be releasing in March in both, the U.S. and Europe, and will, of course, feature a crapload of exclusive downloadable content via Live. The game itself will feature better graphics (it better), new songs and the new wired X-Plorer guitar designed specifically for the 360 release.

Dusty Welch, Head of Publishing, RedOctane, said of the game when it was first unveiled back at X06 last September: “With its large integrated hard drive, Xbox 360 provides an incredible platform for facilitating downloadable content. We believe there is no better title to feature micro-transactions than a music game like Guitar Hero II, where the content is the basis of your experience. The relationship with the Xbox Live Marketplace creates endless possibilities for exclusive content.”

Won't be long now before we hear of PS3 and Wii versions, hopfully, with wireless guitars.

I was wondering when you guys were going to post this. Figures we get a wired guitar.. but who needs wireless with the wii mote? Im a cheap bastard and dont mind just using the wii mote instead of an actual plastic guitar. (or in Florida, how they say, GEE-TAR!!!)

Kevvo:

My wife is going to divorce me when Guitar Hero II (360) comes out, especially if "Bark at the Moon" is a downloadable song.

Man, a Wii version would just about negate my need to buy an Xbox 360, as that's the only MUST have title coming for it. I like some of the other 360 games, but dang, that's a must have on any platform, and I'd get it on the wii.

There is no way Wii would have a wired one.

Maybe they could combine Guitar Hero and Band Brothers (Japanese DS title) and making a BAND game, just use 2 Wiimotes for drums, get guitars and you are set.

The wired controller is ridiculous. I want this game, but I dont know if I can justify purchasing a wired guitar. I can hear the sound of 1,000 PS3 fanboys laughing and preparing their flame throwers...

Wireless controller for the Wii would be so easy, just a slot on the back to put your wiimote in and it's GO! GH3 better come soon.. to the Wii!

There's reports coming in from CES about the 360 demo of Guitar Hero 2. A few new tracks:
"Life Wasted' - Pearl Jam
"Possum Kingdom" - The Toadies
"Hush" - Deep Purple
"Dead!" - My Chemical Romance
"Billion Dollar Babies" - Alice Cooper
"Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo" - Rick Derringer
"Salvation" - Rancid

As long as I don't have to pay for new tracks, that's fine with me!

What I would like to see is GH combined with elements from Karaoke Revolution since Harmonix actually did almost ALL of the work in KR. Then you could play guitar while your girl sings her heart out, (Or vice versa) OR you could go ego maniacal and sing while shredding. Good times to be had by all.

That was the gayest comment ever.
