Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

With all the hype around Street Fighter IV: Giant Dragon Penis Edition you might have missed another up and coming fighting game from the makers of the Guilty Gear / Accent Core folks called BlazBlue - a PS3 network exclusive that made its official debut this year at AOU in Japan. The game is set in the same Guilty Gear universe ten years after XX and will bring some solace to those whose panties are not dripping for SF IV, including yours truly. The game is also set to hit arcades on the Taito Type X2 board, presuming your city still has one of those.

Check out the round-up of videos, scans, and screen shots we've found on the ps3 forums and our community blogs.  Three more videos after the jump.

Thanks, Y0j1mb0!

Goodness sakes just release this game now.

I look forward to this and Basara Cross X more than I do SFIV now. These look so much more promising.

This gives me one more reason to pick up a PS3 this year.

Thank god its on PS3 because if it was on the 360 man that D-pad is horrible.

Wow, I find it ironic that the thing that's making me want a PS3 right now is a 2d game. But that's not a bad thing. =p

But the 3d Guilty Gear is some RTS Dynasty Warriors thing, it doesn't count.

Good lord, I want to play this game so bad. This along with KOFXII is making the year great 2d-wise. You suppose we'll see any guilty gear fighters as hidden characters?

did dante and cloud have kids?or did they do a fusion al~la dbz? game looks great though. too long of an intro, title font reminds me of soouul caliber. i love that game,my favorite 3D fighter and best fighter on Dreamcast. the stage is set. #1_in_the_hood_G!!

The video game gods have graced us PS3 owners. I was really wanting a good fighter on the PS3, this is the answers (maybe SC IV but I'll see how that goes first). I hope there are more than three characters.

God damn PS3 exclusivity. Release it for PS2 T_T(I really don't want to play fighters on my 360)

I am so thrilled that this a PSN exclusive. Guilty Gear is one of my all-time favorite fighters (I wish Queen of Hearts some how made it to PSN or XBL). I was honestly jealous of the shoot 'em ups XBL is getting. F SF IV in the A ; it looks generic and im not a fan of the graphic style.

Lol, I saw that golem jacking Potemkin's moves.

IMPORTANT QUESTION!

Can the PS3 use any controllers other than the SixAxis/DualShock3? This is important, because the d-pad on those things is worth absolute SHIT for a 2d fighting game. If not, this isn't much better than trying to play a 2d fighter on 360...

@F Whipple: LOL

This game could rock, but at what price?,also there's just a few charas (not 4 but the "NOT"s on the screen)..hope there's unlockable..we need MOAR BOOBS N PANTIES :P...

Hmmm, looks like I'm going to have to buy an arcade stick now. The only one on the market for the PS3 I can fine is the Hori one and I'm not too sure about it. Anyone know of any others or can recommend the Hori one?

Am I the only one who thinks this looks incredibly generic?

Sure, it's essentially a "sequel" to Guilty Gear which in theory means it should be awesome but honestly, NONE of those characters look as good as ANY of the characters in Guilty Gear.

That Vega girl could be ok, but everyone else just looks uninspired and boring. I'm not saying I won't buy the game but after seeing the awesomeness that the Guilty Gear team can make (SOOO many well designed characters), you'd think you'd see a little bit of that carry over in to the next game.

I mean, seriously, they all just look like DIRECT knock-offs of past Guilty Gear chaarcters.

-.- I'm sorry, I love guilty gear with a passion but this game is THE EXACT SAME GAME. Sure the characters are new, but the whole interface, combo system, etc are the same as guilty gear. This isn't a sequal or a step forwards, this is another bloody step sideways.

@Raired: The Hori Fighting Stick 3 is certainly worth the $50. i use it to play T5: Dark Resurrection and it doesn't miss a beat.

As for BlazBlue, I just hope there are more than 10 characters (which is what the selection screen is making it out to be), because I don't want to play World Warrior again (yes yes I know it was eight).
