Guilty Gear Accent Core bugs

7:42 PM on 06.08.2007   |   Brad Rice

The other day, this video of some bugs in the console version of Guilty Gear: Accent Core was brought to my attention. Watching the video, there are some pretty serious bugs in the game. To name a few:

-Bridget's punching bear moves forward instead of the normal backwards-only
-Johnny's range attack and specials don't work properly -- they'll miss or have too far a range.
-Game freezes at certain points
-Able to guard out of Venom's sphere grab

There are other things in the video that strike me as off, but I don't know the specific moves for the characters to pinpoint what exactly is wrong. The PS2 version has already been released, and so it looks like there'll be some problems for those wo were planning to import the game. The Wii version doesn't come out until next month in Japan, so they'll have some time to fix the problems for that, and hopefully put out a "fixed" version of the game.

It's bad when software is buggy, but it's especially bad for a fighting game -- a regular tournament game at that. You've now got glitches that are bad enough to prevent home-tournament play. Let's just hope this is fixed for the U.S. release now, too.

GG series is great and shiot but hope they fix it quixk. Is there a new trend here when game developers are too lazy to playtest their own games before publishing???

That I-No freeze is SO the new freshness.

Forget roll-canceling and kara-cancelling, that shit is game-canceling.

There won't be a US release

That.....is bad.

It's a shame, GGXX is one of my favorites. Never release anything without a thorough playtest.

How the hell can they have bugs in this game when it's like, the third or fourth revision to the same game...

Anyone playing a proper 2D fighter like this on a Wii isn't likely to notice / care about any bugs anyhow.

However, they better fix that ish if its ever localized for North American PS2 owners.

I know there is a PC version but will that hit North America or will it stay Asia and Europe only like the last few GG PC titles?

I didn't realize Accent Core already had a PC release. I only knew of Arcade, PS2 and upcomming Wii. Sure you're not thinking of #Reload?

So far, Guilty Gear has been coming over here to the US fairly regularly (we've got all the releases, save for Accent Core). The Accent Core release will come soon enough -- probably by the end of the year or first quarter 2008 for the PS2 version.

Don't really know about the PC versions, I'd figure they'll stay out of the US.

Slash probably wont come to the US, but play-asia has a listing for the US version.

Yeah. I don't know...

But as far as playing on the Wii is concerned, I think the Classic Controller might be one of the best controllers I've ever used. It's truly underrated.

It has yet to be really tested with a good fighter, but - I'm actually a huge fan of it in general and would love to see how it'll play with Guilty Gear and Smash Bros.
