Did you catch the teaser for inSANE, the new project from THQ and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro? It aired during the Spike Video Game Awards this weekend and didn't tell us a whole lot that we didn't already know. The partnership between THQ and del Toro hasn't exactly been kept a secret or anything so, apart from some tentacles to demonstrate that the game has creepy intentions, the reveal failed to reveal much of anything.

A press release issued by THQ this morning sheds some additional light, notably that inSANE is planned to consist of three games. In addition to the games, del Toro and THQ will also be collaborating on "potential transmedia projects surrounding the inSANE games." So you can probably expect there to be some sort of tie-in, straight-to-dvd movie or something I'm sure.

I like del Toro. He's one of the more creative and daring filmmakers in his industry and I would like to believe that he is an artist who can work as effectively in the medium of videogames. But until we see more, something which could literally take years, my enthusiasm is tepid at best.

The Expendables 3/Broforce crossover was Lionsgate's idea

A lot of people are annoyed with the idea of product placement in games. The inclusion of free Mercedes Benz DLC in Mario Kart 8, and to a lesser extent, the Expendables 3/Broforce collaboration, have some scre...more

Broforce presents The Expendabros, a free crossover game

Free Lives' Broforce is a run-and-gun game with a parody-filled cast of action movie heroes. Indianna Brones, Rambro, Snake Broskin -- the list goes on. It's all too perfect, then, that this team has collaborated with The Ex...more
