Actually, that pretty much is every first footage of a game with a lengthy development time..
Did they ever release a "playable version of the trailer of Killzone 2 where the devs said that you can rotate the camera of the bullet to prove that the trailer wasn't CG but the actual engine?
Wasn't it like part of a level intro movie or something?
Care not, trailer was awesome, game was awesome I don't see the problem.
This was the closest thing I could find to killzone porn

Sony and Guerilla have already owned up to the trailer fiasco when KZ2 came out. Are you really taking a recent interview and rehashing an old story out of it Jim?
Silver lining I guess....
its a proof of concept trailer. cgi what ever you want to call it.
its not like Guerrilla is the first company to do this.

Jack - "That is real gameplay"
This is where the BS comes in. Not that they created a tech demo of what they wanted to achieve, but that Sony lied to consumers.
Greed
Lies
Dodgy deals
Figured we'll all be pretty fucking used to it by now.
Jack may have dropped a couple of words which were out of place, perhaps at the time he didn't know that it wasn't real gameplay, perhaps he meant it in the context of "Now THAT is real gameplay!" who knows. It's not like they told you that you had cancer, let you spank your life savings and fuck over your relationships, then turned around and said "Psych! lolololol"
But i get it, some people just need to rip on Sony, shout "liars" all you want, it doesn't make Killzone 2 any less of a fantastic game.
For instance, when a company lies and is greedy, the consumers likely won't come back as a customer. Hence, why a lot of people are laughing about this now and why some people will scoff off their next title. In short - don't be a dumb.
Also, I'm glad the PS3-only peeps will be getting their own "pew pew lasers space marines with jetpacks" game with Killzone 3. Maybe they'll stop bitching about Halo being a "pew pew lasers space marines with jetpacks" game now and find something different to talk about.
Probably not.
If I test drove a car, and someone sold me a car claiming it was the one I test drove, but it wasn't, I've be put off. More so if it wasn't of equal quality.
What makes the claims at Sony all the worse though, is the crazed Sony fans defending the trailer as real-time for YEARS, interrupting otherwise interesting online conversation. Worse yet, after the games' release, hearing how the game looks better than the trailer.
I don't like being told untrue things. I think that's my issue.
All that being said? BRING ON THE KILLZONE 3.
As for 2005 versus what we got:

I'd say they came really damn close. So close in fact that people whining about this even now just really boggles my mind. Halo 2 was a worse offender by far.
With the exception of the sniper rifles zoom, and toggling the grenades/knife. I'll give you that at least.
I never really scrutinized the trailer against te game, so I never really cared. I'm kinda curious now to go check it out.
It's in the article and everything :|
