Those of you waiting on the remastered XBLA release of Guardian Heroes will have to wait a bit longer as the old Summer window has been tossed. Instead look for the game starting October 12th. Along with the delay announcment, Sega has a new trailer for the game, so there is that as well.
From what I've read this game was a great thing, and I should probably check out the 800 MS Point Xbox Live version this holiday season. I am intrigued by the branching story, but the co-op and extra modes sound fun too. What did you guys think, was the writing good or was it the fighting mechanic that has you excited for an Xbox release? What was your favorite aspect of Guardian Heroes?
If I remember anything about this game... it was that it was REALLY long. I was younger when this game out of course but I remember after button mashing for close to 2 hours a friend and I got bored and simply stopped.
I paid just over $60 for the saturn version, and the game is awesome! Just wish it was 6 players coop instead of just versus. Game is awesome, and is worth checking out if you like beat em ups.
The absolute best the Beat'em up genre had to offer. An absolutely amazing game. I can't stress this enough, Guardian Heroes in as close to perfection as you can get.
There's a special bit of news about Guardian Heroes that none of the blog sites wants to report on; The demo for the game was accidentally released on the mexican xbox live marketplace (and is probably still there). I was able to download the demo though sadly they caught on and changed the buy price to 5 billion MS points. However, I heard that some people were able to buy before MS changed the price and have the full game. It definitely is the full game and I have no idea why they're waiting for October to release it.
I honestly didn't care for the Saturn, just didn't see much about it that made me want the console. However, this game I did get to play because my friend at the time bought a Saturn and I LOVED this game. We must have played it over and over again. So I will most likely be purchasing it when it comes out on XBLA.
One of my favorite games, glad to purchase again since I gave away my Saturn. *psssst* I looked into what Jaime said and created a free mexican gamertag and am currently downloading the trial. It doesn't show up in the Marketplace but you can add it to your active downloads from the following link....
DAMN, I forgot about this game, now I know I'll need to get more MS points for this, Fez and Retro City Rampage, thankfully, I don't think the other 2 will be out for a while.
yeah... ive been playing the demo for a bit.. its absolutely sick. i remember buying this game back in 96 before i even had a saturn just to play it at a friends house. i had only read a half page article about it in egm and they made it sound amazing.
arguably the best game of its genre.. and probably the best game for the saturn (the saturn is my 2nd favorite console of all time.. so thats a lot of praise coming from me). now, if only we could get 3 dirty dwarves as well.
Couldn't be more excited for this. There are LOTS of Sega Saturn games I would've loved to have played that I never got the chance to. Right now I'm loving Radiant Silvergun, and honestly, Oct. 12 for Guardian Heroes seems surpringly soon to me. I'm hoping someone does NiGHTS into Dreams soon.
